I have, did nothing, the only thing that has been a Godsend is laser hair removal. I no longer feel like a man! I found a groupon for 6 session on my face for $200! You do one session every 6 weeks, and shave (no plucking or waxing) in the meantime, 2 sessions in almost all the hair is gone! :) 6 sessions for 6 weeks broke down to $23/session, I think most of us can afford that. :)

I am giving the spearmint tea a try.

I found Organic Spearmint Loose Tea leaves at Davids Tea (I live in Canada). If you are having trouble finding it in regular grocery stores I would give specialty tea stores a try. It is really cheap at Davids Tea compared to the price of other loose teas that they sell.

Now that we are moving into summer I am going to start making "spearmint iced tea" (just cooling it after steeping, no additioanl sugar/sweetner etc.).

I like tea, but I am a VERY slow hot-tea drinker, iced-teas go down much quicker so that might be a good tip for anyone struggling to get in their two-cups.

Personally I have had laser treatement for my excessive hair after trying all sorts of things. It has got rid of 95% of the unwanted hair and I look normal now. As hair folicals can stay dorment for up to 5 years I occasionally need a top up to get rid of the small amount of unwated hair that crops up every 6-9 months.

Try your local health food store or the organic section in your mega-mart. I can find it in both places. If that doesn't do it, there's always the internet! I do know of www.nowfoods.com, which carries it. Good luck!

I am so happy you posted this message on Spearmint, I'm going to definitely try it. Hubby and I aren't planning on children at this moment, so possible side effects shouldn't be a problem.

Fortunately, there is NO chance of me being pregnant, so I should be OK. But, thanks for the warning! Safety during pregnancy is of the utmost importance, so it is great to get the word out there about side effects of some of these herbs!

Just be warned that stuff in the mint family can be an abortifacent and thus should be used sparingly during pregnancy.

Update: It is NOT my imagination....there is a DEFINITE reduction in hair, probably by over 50%!!! I've sprouted waaaaay less this week! The hairs that are growing in are lighter colored, finer, and not as obnoxiously obvious! I'm not noticing a difference w/ body hair, but w/ facial hair, there is a CLEAR benefit so far!

Well, I've drank this stuff for well over a week now, and maybe it is my imagination, but I could swear I've plucked less chin and upper lip hair this week. Hmmmmm......

I have been drinking it, with some success. I drink 2 strong cups a day (been doing this about a month) and notice that my facial hair especially doesn't seem to grow as fast or quite so thick.

I ordered some but I forgot I had it. I have a hard time with tea because to me it doesn't have much flavor.

What can you add to spearmint tea to give it more flavor? I don't think lemon, honey or sugar would be good.

been drinking the stuff (for about 10+ years now) before I new I had PCOS and I've not seen any benifit from it save that it seem to help me stay awake while studying or working late thanks to the freshness that it has.

Hi! I just wanted to let you know that I'm trying an experiment -- I started drinking spearmint tea twice a day to see if it helps w/ cutting down on my excess hair growth from PCOS. Have any of you ever given this a try, and, did it help at all? This is day 5....I'm not sure how long you are supposed to drink it before you see some results. I would guess that like w/ most herbal treatments, it would take awhile, but you never know! emoticon
