I am not sure if this is even the place to do this, but I figured we are all here to lose weight on PCOS and we have some favorite little recipes that help beat the cravings, or whatever.
I use the following soup as a great snack or an addition to a meal to fill me up. It is extremely low in calories and fat, less than 75 calories per bowl and about 0.5 gram of fat. You can help yourself to a bowl every time you get hungry in between meals or you need to warm up on a cold day. You can also have it cold on a summer day. You could shake it up once in a while and add zucchini or other squash, and account for a few more calories.
SNACK SOUP 4 stalks of celery, chopped in large pieces 3 or 4 carrots, chopped in large pieces 1 small onion, diced 1 garlic clove, diced, optional low-fat, low-sodium chicken bouillon to make 1 cup low-fat, low-sodium vegetable bouillon to make 1 cup. 2 cups of water. Your favorite herb/spice mix to taste. Bay leaf. Pepper to taste. Pinch of salt or to taste.
Mix up the bouillon in warm water. Pour 1/2 cup in a medium sauecepan, saute your onions and garlic in it on medium-high heat until just tender. Add carrots and celery, herbs/spices, a bay leaf, pepper, and the rest of the water. Bring to boil, then lower heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes or until carrots and celery are just tender but still crunchy. Adjust herbs/spices to taste and serve. Serves 4.
