I did the turkey thing yesterday. I made my own cranberry sauce and it needed a little extra sweetness. I use any leftover cranberry sauce in cookies so that is why I tend to put a little less sugar in my sauce because when I make the cookies I'll be adding sugar anyway.

And I love sharing my cooked products with others! I really miss canning and freezing foods for family.
I am not camera and computer savvy enough to take photos of dishes I make and get them to you. My DIL puts photos for me into the computer sometimes. But I have never asked her to photo any dishes I make.
Now I am reminded to get out my camera, take it with me to FL and to computer class and I can do it there. I will try!

Spent the whole day in the kitchen as I had close to one peck of peaches to peel and about 20 nectarines.
Made a nectarine crisp and a peach cobbler - both gluten free.
Made a squash dish with 3 zucchini and 2 yellow summer squash.
Baked chicken and had dirty rice in oven with other dishes. Everyone enjoyed the meal but I forgot to tell son there was Parmesan Cheese in squash dish and he had stomach problems within an hour as he is very lactose intolerant.
Also used a Spark recipe for cucumbers and tomatoes cut together with Light Ranch Dressing.

I love this time of year with all the crops ready and I loved bringing home wonderful produce from PA and OH. I think Thanksgiving should be earlier in the year.

Another kitchen day as I am using all the wonderful produce I brought from up north.
Today I made the best stuffed peppers! Could have eaten two of them, but didn't.
Also made Stuffed Pepper Soup which is very good, but need to cook a little more rice to add to it. (I think)
Made a small meat loaf for Chuck.
Cooked a dark green acorn squash and DIL and I decided it is much better than the green and white striped ones. Only drawback is we both like it with butter.
Mixed up cookies for Chuck (to bake later) and finished the day by making a Key Lime Pie so we can have our friends over for dessert. I make the pies with Key Lime juice that we squeezed and froze while in FL last winter. Also picked the Key Limes.
Guess I have had a busy day - as usual.

After a week of heavy cooking and canning, I took the day off today and went up north with DH. We had Chinese buffet for dinner. We are exhausted and are now off to bed.

I didn't eat it this way; but I think the Spinach celery soup may work cold too - it might need a bit of nutmeg or something to make it more flavourful.

We had a scrumptious lunch today. DIL bought a 22 oz. box of gluten free French Bread Mix and decided we needed the special holders to make French Bread. I think they may be like Subway uses to make 3 foot long rolls at one time.
I mixed the dough in the bread machine and since it is quite soft, I spooned it into 12 small sub rolls, some were good size for hot dogs. Let them rise about 1/2 hour, then baked them.
Made excellent subs with deli ham and/or roast beef with cheese, lettuce, and other good toppings. Seven of us really enjoyed them. I gave in and ate one, but found it a little hard to enter in tracker. I will go light with dinner, which I usually try to do.
Now I must look up some recipes for French Bread and give that a try.

Half the meal was braised veal steak over gluten free noodles while other half family had whole grain penne pasta made with chicken and red sauce. Salad, of course and gluten free spice bars.

I will be doing some cooking from scratch this weekend! Going to see my Dad on Sunday and he loves my chocolate chip cookies so I will make a couple of batches and at his request I will be making him pizza for dinner. I make my own crust and marinara sauce. It really is a good feeling when someone you love loves what you cook and/or bake emoticon

What recipe do you use for your carrot cookies? I tried one 1 I found on SP, but didn't enjoy the cookies at all.

I'm willing to give it another try.
Hope your feeling better.

Kitchen cat, I didn't think about that. I will definitely try that. When plans with family on the weekends enterfere with my cooking I have a rough time all week maintaining. If I had back up in the freezer that would keep me on track even if I did not cook on the weekends. Thank you!

I do something similar except that I frequently make at least one of the items in large quantity (16 servings of chili, 12 servings of tortilla casserole, etc.) so I can have several servings during the week and freeze the rest in individual portions. That way when my weekend is too busy to cook properly, I have enough of a selection to grab and go from the freezer. Over time, one amasses a wider variety of selections and on weekends like this (about 15 hours in the gardens) I still have really good homemade food to eat.

Sounds like you have it under control. More people should learn to plan like this. I don't work outside the home right now. But I do make sure I always have a big green salad made up, also in the fruit season make sure fruit and melon are cleaned and cut up. Throw something on the grill, good to go. If I have things planned and prepared I'm less likely to grab junk or a drive threw.

My usual week consists of leaving for work (M-F) before 6 AM, eating breakfast and lunch at work, getting home after 6 PM, eating dinner at home. Needless to say I rarely cook during the week. Just doesn't seem to be enough time for it.

So on the weekend, depending on my plans, I either cook on Saturday or Sunday enough food for the week. I divide it all up into serving sizes and keep them in the fridge in designated areas. That what it is just grab and go in the mornings.

Just checking to see if anyone else has a similar schedule and possibly some tips on making it better.
