I bought mine at Walmart...
I prefer the
Beef Merlot w/ Broccoli
Turkey with pan gravy / green beans
Italian sausage with veggies

the chicken ones tasted like rubbery unseasoned chicken..the crustless pot pie and the other one both leave a lot to be desired.

The Walmart here carries a limited selection of the Atkins meals. I suppose they want to see how they go over before they get a bunch. I've not tried them though, don't usually do the "boxes" of meals.

The stores are not all the same any but Kroger will carry products by request so I'm sure they could get it.

Huh. I'll have to check ours. Maybe I'm thinking of the Harris Teeter. I know I've bought some there.

Yeah, one of the perks of being on the fringe of a couple of college towns and a capital city, I guess. You should be able to get decent uncured, smoked bacon at places like Kroger, but you can't beat the TJ's price!

I sure wish we had a Trader Joe's here or a Whole Foods. It is so hard to find healthier options.

I just cooked some of Trader Joe's excellent uncured apple-smoked bacon in the oven this morning. And this time I slightly undercooked it and didn't burn it like last time! I'm not always good at prepping things ahead of time, but it really does help--and you get real food!

I often do. LOL. That's why I try to sometimes get it fixed ahead of time. I'm not that crazy about 6 in the morning but I used to have to start work at 5 so it's an improvement.

I sometimes fix bacon in the oven on baking sheets and then I have it for all week. I also have an electric egg cooker which can boil 7 hard eggs and it can do poached as well. I have to get up at 6 in the morning to fix breakfast otherwise.

I am not a breakfast person! Dont get me wrong I love the breakfast food..but I usually eat it around 1130ish..lol But I know that its an important part of the weight loss because it starts the metabolism etc for the day. One of my SUPER SKINNY friends gave me the best tip and I felt i have to pass it on!
Always keep a few deviled eggs or boiled eggs in the fridge...and pre-fry your favorite breakfast meat store it in an airtight container in the fridge..
GENIUS! why didnt I think of that????
That way you get protein first thing which helps curb your appetite... and theres only 1 carb total in 2 eggs!

I just ate the Beef Merlot Atkins meal and it was pretty good, I poured it into a glass bowl and it filled up 1/2 the bowl....

I have been sleeping alot lately and my weight is slowly climbing up.....I am really trying to get it back down. My husband and I are going on a cruise next March 1st for our 30th wedding anniversary and I must get 35lbs off.....

I have been eating less food and drinking more water and less diet coke....

When I woke up this morning I was so hungry I could not eat fast enough.....but I ate, then I was done and waited until lunch....

I tend to eat too fast too. And before I've realized it, I'm finished and am looking for something more. So now, I try and make myself just sit there for a few minutes before I can get up and by that time, I'm usually thinking of something else to do, the urge to eat more is gone (for the moment).

Haven't felt just right today, nothing I could put my finger on, just "off". Ribs were kind of sore, but then I remember I'd coughed pretty hard after getting a pill stuck in my mouth, then swallowed a mouthfull of air and well... anyhow, it made me cough pretty hard, so maybe that's it. Plus, I've been sitting around too much the last couple of days too... I have a bad habit on weekends of doing too much sitting.

The Beef Merlot with Broccoli was actually really tasty! I did not care for the Chicken meals as the chicken just didnt taste appetizing to me at all.
The portions are pretty small when compared to what I was considering as "normal" B.D. (Before Dieting).. but I guess that's what got me into this shape, huh. And I find if I wait 5 minutes I feel full. Some how there must be a delay in whatever it is that makes my brain say I am full...stop eating. Hopefully this will improve

I cook a lot of my meals, at least the protein portions of it ahead of time, freeze them in individual servings and can either let them thaw if I think of it in time, otherwise the microwave works well to do that. And as for veggies, I buy the frozen ones, toss some in a skillet and stir fry them - just a few minutes is all it takes. I did make more complete meals and freeze them when I worked, but don't find it necessary any more.

I've gotten to the point if and when I cook, I want to make enough to last for awhile. Trying to keep life simple!

I agree with everyone about the quality, or lack thereof, of those kind of meals, low-carb or not. And I also am never filled up by them. I don't look at calories per meal very much but try to balance out the day without getting too crazy. If I get hungry, I'll usually do a Quest bar, They have good-quality ingredients and a lot of protein for their size. Or a protein shake. Otherwise, I throw something on the stove. I could almost live on steak (or chicken thighs) and grapefruit.

I am giving myself some talks too about being hungry but I worry about it due to my hypoglycemia. Hunger is one of the the first symptoms I have that I'm going to crash and burn. LOL.

I eat a large salad for lunch every day and find that sometimes it doesn't seem to satisfy me for some reason. I used to eat a salad with supper but as I age I have a hard time eating very much at a time.

I have been telling myself that it's ok to be a little hungry, I have gotten used to overeating and have to retrain my self. I am stuck in a rut right now, I was diagnosed with lupus and have been sleeping to much and eating. The meals are portion controlled for me and they are good for work or when I have gone way to many hours without eating.

Try a salad with your meal, it will be more food and may help.

I think that would be a problem for me too. I eat too much even of healthy food so a serving leaves me unsatisfied. Something I need to work on.

I had one yesterday, only as a result of the free coupon they send with their kit (the one that comes with the three free bars, etc). It was edible...but I won't go much further than that. The one I had was turkey tenders with frenched green beans. It was just "okay", IMO. Honestly, I think I could have done a better job making it myself - with KNOWN ingredients! I can't imagine that I'll be buying any more of their meals. The assortment doesn't really appeal to my tastes, anyway.

I'm going to just stick to "real food." If I want quickie meals, I'd prefer to make my own and freeze portions. I know that's not appealing to folks with hectic schedules...but DH and I used to really enjoy our weekend time spent cooking several whole meals together, and then portioning them out to the freezer. Fits a budget better too!

Okay, so I started the Low Carb thing again and have had success with it previously. emoticon
This time around I discovered the frozen meals Atkins has for low carb dieters. I grabbed a couple just for those nights when I wasnt up to cooking. Each one has around 300calories and 5 net carbs.. I noticed both of the ones I tried (so far) have Spinach in them...Although Im not a fan of spinach and really dont like the taste of frozen entrees..these werent too bad. Is anyone else out there using these products? If so what are your favorites??
