Russell.... after I get off of this I'm going to severely limit my carbs and ease back into eating (Today is my second day and I dare not go a third. I'm about to go crazy) and am going to try and up the fats more than I was and maybe stick to meats a bit more.

To clear up the bullet proof coffee thing.... I only drink 1-2 extremely small cups of coffee.... imagine those small cups at work and only half that coffee.

All that is in bullet proof coffee (the way I make it) is a 1-2 table spoons butter and a small spoon of coconut oil.... I also dropped in some liquid stevia. Put it in a blender. This is no way unsafe to me. Thats as much butter as I might put into other cooking. Coconut oil is actually extremely beneficial to health.

What is bullet proof coffee?? I've seen it mentioned, but not sure what's in it..

I'm more like Russell, I could go several days on meats, eggs, cheese - but not on cream cheese - a couple spoonsfull of that is enough for me. I've got to have a little variety.

I could not live on cream cheese. I'm not that crazy about it.

I find that I lose weight quite well, the higher I up my fat intake. Today I am at 72% fat. I would never do the fat fast, because I like protein ( meat ). I might cut out the veggies and do just meat and eggs for 3 days. That would probably be 80% fat, but not having cream cheese for a meal..lol.

Good Luck breaking your plateau though.

I would talk to my doctor before I would get into Bullet Proof coffee. While it does get rid of a lot of the toxins, if the claims are true, it still is loaded with caffeine and some doctors like to limit caffeine in people with certain conditions. Some people have already been complaining about problems with bullet proof coffee, inlcuding flushing, shakes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, elevated blood sugar, menses problems, etc. According to the manufacturers. caffeine is the most wonderful product that has ever been introduced to modern man, and it does have some good qualities in that it increases alertness and helps athletic performance and weight loss but it does have some problems too. Basically you are giving your body 500-700 calories of fat depending on how you fix it and 4-6 hours of "speed". On 500 calories, mostly from fat, you would probably be full for a few hours anyway. The really great effects of coffee in general are accomplished by artery constriction which in effect elevates your blood pressure. In some people that is problematic. Caffeine is highly addictive and often used like a drug. I had worse withdrawal quitting it than I did quitting smoking. One or two a cups a day is all that most doctors recommend and some people like me can't even handle one cup.

I just found out about bulletproof coffee when one of my hCG friends started doing it. I might try it when I'm in the next phase of the protocol.

Haha I think everyone got side tracked on BACON! lol .... I lack some of the knowlege in what specifically isn't allowed so I'm pretty well just sticking with what is. I ate macadamia nuts and cream cheese today..... that is all. lol HOWEVER I've found the most terrific way to eat cream cheese (not as a chunk like I did at lunch... yuck) but with a bit of melted butter, vanilla, and stevia. Mix together with blender and WALA tastes just like cheese cake to me. I stick in the freezer a bit to chill. I do not mind eating the cream cheese like this at all.

I also learned about bullet proof coffe whose ingrediants are allowed in the fat fast so.... google it if you have never heard of it. It may have changed my low carbing world forever. Someone recommended it to me since you are sure to get your fats in.... first thing in the morning!

I put up a VLOG about my day 1 on this.... I'll make sure I post an update tomorrow and how things go from there.

Not on a fat fast, but I do eat a lot of bacon. In fact, tonight I'm having a bacon "sandwich" - bacon wrapped in a l/c tortilla. I buy the uncured bacon that is free of added nitrites and nitrates. Love it... And love pork sausage too.

I would love to hear how it works if you do it. It's actually something I think I could do if necessary. Especially if bacon is allowed!

I don't know a lot of people who have had to do it. Everyone is individual but I've usually found that I had to increase my exercise to 1 to 2 hours a day and lower my calories to 1200 to break one. I always lose weight when I do.

I've been eating lean protein and using low-fat dairy for so long, that I don't think I could do this even for a day. About the only fat I could eat a lot of is peanut butter - LOL.

You only eat fats (well atleast 90%) for a few days.... 3-5 usually. It helps people that can't get in to ketosis but people also use it to break plateaus. The meals aren't very pleasing but overall you are supposed to get results and back on track.

I have been in pleateau since November.... I had a few cheats in November and December but stayed on plan all the rest. I have been monitoring very strictly my carb and calorie intake the last few weeks and am still hovering at 158.... I'll touch 156 here and there only to find myself right back at 158 with no changes in diet. I upped exercise a bit and that hasn't helped either, so this is a real pleateau. I’ve done some research on doing a fat fast…. Some message boards people had a lot of success using it to break plateaus… others say “oh no it’s dangerous” (though I have a hard time finding that cream cheese and nuts are dangerous… much less dangerous I’d have to say than living on McDonalds and cokes). I am planning on starting tomorrow and going through Sunday which is the recommended three days…. I may go into Monday but I haven’t decided yet. What have your experiences been with this?
