It's getting the time of year for soups, isn't it? One of my favorites which is so simple is to put a can of chicken broth in a pan, add some finely chopped chicken, some finely chopped onion, some mixed veggies - then when the soup is up to almost boiling, I thread in an egg that I've mixed together in a cup. Kind of like a Chinese restaurant egg drop soup. Makes a good quick soup since I don't keep canned soup here - well... I have a couple cans, but they are for in case I'm sick and need something soothing to eat and don't feel like making it, otherwise I make my soups. I'll make big pots of various soups, then freeze in individual servings, so they're all ready except to thaw.
Also do the same with beef broth and leftover pieces of beef..
