I can tell they are fudging on the weight. I still weigh my food but do it as a reference so I don't get sloppy.

You know, I wonder if the nutrition analysis' that restaurants use is not updated. It seems to me that most of the restaurants served larger portions before the economy got so bad and I'm thinking that they've cut down too, but haven't updated their information yet? (They probably don't want the public to be aware that they've done that). Just my thoughts on the subject..

I had a piece of meat the other night that was supposed to be 6 oz and I swear it was 3-4 oz. max! (almost wished I had a scale with me).......... Oh well..

Another thought on the subject. The chicken served was clearly fake, processed chicken patty. Cold cuts bring on the same type cravings for me.

Funny because i sat here wondering just how you managed to eat a 550 calorie chicken dish that didn't include any starches and yet still 550 calories? Laying money on all kinds of sugar in that chicken dish - chicken isn't that many calories even if you ate a huge piece. emoticon

I was right with you on the craving yesterday!

I know where mine came from though. It was a small slice of fruit pie. I let myself be talked into it at a friends luncheon. I knew what it would cause and it did hit on the drive home. I keep my protein bars in my purse to help where I won't buy junk at the stores we pass and when I got home I just loaded on water till supper and ate grilled chicken drissled in dressing. It really satisfied me and knocked out all of the cravings and filled me up. My body knows what it wants and I know what will shut it up. The cravings will stay there until it gets what it wants though!!!

I agree with Moonchild. I'm not a fan of Applebee's. For one thing, in my area, I find that Applebee's portions are very meager. I don't see how they can possibly be giving accurate totals on their calories on what I am eating. These portions may be an actually serving but they don't fill me up. I'm used to eating 4.5 servings a day of veggies. A 6 ounce steak (which I have problems believing starts out at 6 ounces because it looks awfully small to me - I'm used to weighing my food so I would know) and a couple of dry broccoli spear is not enough food for me. I'm use to oil or butter on my veggies.

Your problem could also have been caused by how the chicken was fixed. Where do the 550 calories come from? Some sugar laden sauce? They are usually touting low calorie and low fat, not low carb.

You could have also have encountered a craving. Something that spikes your blood sugar.

At any rate I would not eat this again.

Oh, yeah. Maybe it just wasn't enough food. More and more, I'm finding fat is the key for me. That makes it hard when every place that's trying to offer "healthy" meals thinks that means cutting the fat. I know that doesn't work for me!

The other night we stopped at Applebee's for a quick bite of supper. I had the 550 calories chicken with no potatoes or cheese. It was delicious tasting to me. Then the cravings for more, more, more food hit. It is torturous to go through. I finally had some basic protein/fat at home with helped it a bit. Has anything like this ever happened to you?
