I have no doubt that such a problem exists. I have encountered people who are obsessed with healthy eating in an unhealthy way. To me the key word in the article was "fixation" which implies obsessive. There are some on sparkpeople. They flip out and some even threaten to harm themselves because of a 2 ounce weight gain when it's normal cellular fluctuation. Unfortunately many of these people have addictive personalities and they trade one addiction for another - alcohol, food, drugs, gambling - they are always addicted to something. I've seen blogs where people start to monitor other people's food consumption and wonder if they should tell an obese total stranger, co-worker, etc, that they need to go on diet. LOL. It has crossed the line from wanting to live a healthy lifestyle to being afraid to eat.
