I completely agree! It's an irresponsible shame the way we're been duped and misled all these years. Look where it's gotten us. I am forever grateful to those who will stand up and be counted (and yes, even ridiculed) for their beliefs. The worst part is that we're STILL being swayed from reputable scientific data by those who would present themselves as "nutritional specialists". Even now the popular "wisdom" is quoting things like low fat and healthy grains and the miracle food, soy. If you dare to step off "the line", you're bagged up with all the other "kooks" or idiots who just don't understand "health". pfft
I believe we're on the right path. It seems to me that low-carbers go the extra mile to understand the science, cut through the propaganda to reliable data, and implement it in accordance to listening to their bodies' own feedback. We apply our minds to our lifestyles, rather than just go along with popular flow to fit in with touchy-feely social mores. Most of us (that I've encountered) try to live harmoniously, supporting local producers and pastured foods.
I love the lifestyle for so many reasons. I'd like to go on a crusade! but you can only teach those open-minded enough to hear things that are new and possibly frightening, and which go against the comfort of what's always been done (and is still being promoted: something that would require them to strike out against that "comfort"). I love the way low-carb makes me feel. I love feeling that I'm a part of the world I live in, responsible in my own small way for sustaining and nurturing it. I love losing all this weight and knowing I'm getting healthier with every bite, and that it will be a longer and healthier life! I love sharing the joy and wonder of its simplicity with all of you, and with anyone I can encourage toward it.
Grok on, everyone!

...the problem with people these days is
they've forgotten we're really just animals ...
We did not create the web of life; we are but a strand in it.
We don't have souls. We ARE souls. We have bodies.
