I try to stop by a few member's Pages/Blogs a day.

Breakfast is going well. I like eggs-i use the liquid eggs. SO many different ways to prepare them. Also, the Eggs In A Cup are fun, too. I'm going to try the Cinnamon Breakfast Muffin this morning www.fatsecret.com/recipes/cinnamon-b

Hi, sorry I'm five days late on this discussion forum.
-For me, starting a healthy habit, is food journaling. I started on Jan.6, 2012. I did not journal last two days, my Mother is in the hospital, I ate at some restaurants. Food journaling is very helpful for me, I like it.

-I love music, it's great for enjoyment and relaxing, and fun with moving to burn some calories:))

-I strength workout at Curves MWF, and I have weights at home also.

- Encouragment, sure I'll do my best.

-Breakfast, this last week, I did not eat breakfast every day:(
- Reading Spark pages, I read daily.

*I am in Stage 2* emoticon

I think I'm good on everything except #1 and strength training... so strength training can be my #1. I really need to get on the ball with that! Ordered two DVD's today so I will be ready to go as of Thursday. :)

Will be working on these challenges. I really like the one about choosing some workout music. I've been meaning to do that on my ipod. I need to make a playlist of walking music since right now walking is my exercise. Another goal I have is to FIND my resistance bands in this house somewhere so that I can start strength training.

Looking forward to a healthier 2012!

Success to All,
Beth

I'd like to come back and join in too! I'm just getting started on the New Year's Resolutions or whatever - which tends to be pretty typical for me. Mid to late January tends to be my most productive time of year. I like the Challenge guidelines - getting moving is extremely important to me right now as I am fighting too much arthritis and am done letting it win!

It's week 3 of our new year 2012 Healthy Challenge. By now most people who have made new year's resolutions and many dieters have already abandoned ship. Are you one of them or are your goals important to you?

Your challenges this week are to

1. Start a new healthy habit. You know what you need to work on to improve your life. It takes 21 days to make it a habit. Get started and stick with it.

2. Choose some great workout music. It's proven to really get you revved up and move you past your comfort zone.

3. Everyone should be doing strength training twice a week. Check out sparkpeople's strength training exercises and chose a set that you like that will work all of your muscle groups.

4. Offer another member support. You may be saving their life.

5. Everyone should be eating breakfast. Come up with several healthy breakfasts that fit your plan.

6. Read a sparkpeople article every day this week.

7. Make a list of cardio related activities that you like to do and try something different this week. If you do the same thing your body gets used to it. Mix it up.
