Just like we all say, what works for one may not work for everyone and we each have to do whatever it is that works for us and makes us happy and shows results.......

I'm allowed to have fruit on my plan as long as it doesn't trigger me. I would not consider up to 25gms more carbs a significant problems unless one is a brittle diabetic or very carb sensitive.

Betty,

"I try and keep carbs between 30-40 per day, preferable closer to 30." emoticon

I'll be working my way down to that level in the next few weeks. emoticon

I just try and keep the carbs at a pretty even keel regardless of which of the week it is. Once I start adding things in, I always want more - so it really doesn't work well for me. I try to save the extras for a 'really special' occasion or a necessity.

I try and keep carbs between 30-40 per day, preferable closer to 30.

Nope, not talking about carb cycling, just allowing a few (10-25g) more carbs at weekends to allow for "treats" such as fruit or a glass of wine.

During the week I try to keep carbs at 75g or less, and as high as 100g for weekends...I've not noticed any harm, but have noticed that I'm less inclined to "cheat."

I have days that I eat off plan, but always regret it....

I have a tendency to over eat on stuff I need to stay away from.

It depends on what you mean. Unless you are trying to break a plateau by carb cycling to the top and bottom of your carb range I usually don't consider it to be a good idea. If you are deciding to go off plan on the weekends for "free" days I have found this usually just leads to cravings, stalls, weight gains.

My husband did this, for many years, successfully....mostly when maintaining. For me, I'd go CRAZY on the weekends and undo all the good I'd done. :-( See what works for you. Some people are better at moderation. I'm a "give me an inch, I'll take a mile" kind of eater.

I don't - but I am curious on what would be the rationale exactly of increasing over the weekend? Personally I think it would boomerang on me, ie I would be undoing all my hard work thru the week.

Does anyone plan to increase carbs over weekends?
