I'm glad you are re-commiting to your health and well being... I have a trick that works most of the time... Everynight I think over my day... and I give myself Kudo's for being good... when I think I want to stray from my program I think to myself... do I really want this mishaps to be on my mind while I'm trying to sleep... it works for me... a good night of guilt free sleep is worth all the carb free meals in the world.... LOL
I find that I still mess up but not as often... as for your headach it should go away by day 3 or 4... just drink lots of water to help flush you system.. you will be smiling from ear to ear by the end of the week....

Just make a commitment to do things as right as possible as much as you can

LOL. I have esophageal problems and GERD and it's really hard for me to eat bread. Back when 100% whole wheat bread was all the rage and I was told I had to eat it I spent lots of time trying to gag the stuff down. I don't even like the taste of it and my system doesn't like it at all. Once when I was trying to get some bread to go down my esophagus, it rebelled and the dough ball idea came to my mind. I had to ask myself why I was gagging and chocking down something that I didn't even like and that isn't good for me and I realized it was stupid. It didn't taste good enough for the effort - not like a good steak or some green beans or berries so I had to give myself a reason to do it and could not come up with one. I just basically told my doctor to shove the bread. If I need the Heimlich I rather them be digging out beefsteak instead of some dough. Now when I see doughnuts I usually ask myself if I want to gag myself on a dough ball and it usually works. Don't look at them, don't smell them, don't entertain the thought.

Morticia, I ABSOLUTELY loved your thought on a hamburger (or other) bun... I'm going to remember that when I order a burger and emphasize that I do not want the "ball of dough" Thats great...

That is a statement worthy of a post on my fridge...

I'm glad to see your boyfriend supporting your efforts. That will be a big plus. If push comes to shove then have the cheeseburger, without the bun. I hated the idea at first but now I like them better without the bun. The meat and toppings are the tasty stuff. The bun is just a dough ball to gum up your stomach and intestines and cause problems like, insulin resistance, GERD and IBS, You can always put it in a lettuce wrap or in a low carb wrap. Some only have 3 net carbs. But I like mine with the lettuce or I just eat it with a fork.

Thats exactly how I have always thought, well i will pig out today and start tomorrow. well guess what its ten times harder to start the next day. Today I have done really good so far, I was kinda questioning doing low carb or not a few mins ago, and my man was out getting dinner. He said what do you want I was like a salad, and he was like just get something at charlie and barneys. I said ok get me a cheeseburger and he said fine I will go get you salad. haha he can tell that I am unhappy with my weight and knows that I am trying really hard so that moment was important to me. I want to do this so bad, i just have to get past the first few days.

We're human - we will make poor choices sometimes, but I agree with the rest of you - get right back up and on program - one meal, one day or even one weekd doesn't make a failure, maybe just a little set back. Even if we go two steps forward and one step back, we're still making headway in the big picture!

There was a time in my life, I had that attitude. Oh, well I had xxx for my lunch, so I might as well finish the day with some xxxxx - rather than think, that was ONE bad choice, lets not make it 2 or 3 or more!

this mindset has helped me too. i use to let myself fall down this slippery slope of "i ate one bad meal or food item, so i may as well sabotage the plan" sometimes for days, weeks or even months. no, no, no. i allow myself the room to make an unhelathy choice and move on. in other words, just because i had french fries for lunch, doesn't mean i can't have a low carb dinner. in fact, i usually do to balance things out. don't stay down. try to get up immediately.

The other thing that helps me is to log in everyday. it helps me to stay connected with like-minded people. even if it's just to read an article, blog, or read my goals. it helps.

Smart Carber.

Yep, Kierae is right. A small temporary stumble doesn't have to end up as a broken leg. If you cheat then stop and get back on plan immediately. That's what most of us do.

And IF you do choose (and it is a CHOICE) to eat something that isn't allowed/part of induction/whatever...do not tell yourself you have blown it so might as well start tomorrow/Monday/etc. No giving yourself permission to dive face first into the bread or dessert trays. Got it?

Right! I am going to make it more of a lifestyle, I also dont want to weigh myself for a few days. That way I dont concentrate on the numbers and get pass the first 3 days. I have a few cookouts to go to this weekend, the meat works but not the other stuff so I am going to bring a low carb side dish. Thanks for the help ladies.

I have gained 5 pounds since the last time I was on here. I quit coming on spark I quit eating low carb. I also developed some serious bad habits. My pants are tight I have serious headaches, and I feel pitafull. I am ready for induction tomorrow. I am sure you guys get sick of hearing me say this stuff.
