I am going to have a very busy week. I caught up on housework yesterday and today is errands.

Celebrated our 42nd wedding anniversary on the 1st. and after our great dinner out actually lost a pound. I ate a bit more then the norm and actually had a few mouthfuls of hubby's dessert so was surprised. I guess there is something about shocking the metabolism by eating more then your daily norm of carbs once in a while. LOL!

Hey Jake, Hang in there! It is very stressful sitting and waiting when there is nothing you can do for her right now. I trust your daughter and grandchild are in good hands. Be good to yourself so you can be the healthy active grandma you want to be.And if you have to snack, pig out on veggies and fatty things if you can!Keep us posted!

Hey everyone....my daughter is in the hospital, she is 33 weeks pregnant and her blood pressure is elevated so they may be taking the baby early.....sooo I have been eating chips like a mad fiend, as soon as we get more bad news I start wanting to stress eat. It drives me crazy that the minute something happens I want to eat things that make me fat.

Hi All, Just checking in. Staying on track with fingers crossed.
When we forget to do anything special to celebrate an anniversary, we take it as a sign we are just really comfortable with each other, or else too busy at the time and we make it up later.

Hi All, DH and I have been out exploring UAE. As for my program, driving all day is not great exercise and Persian/Arabian restaurant food is high in starches and low in veggies, so I'm back to work on myself today! Back to low carb for a few days. Cauliflower is great!
Have a great one everyone!

I use (sorry) a food processor . It works well for rice dishes, and is a lot better for us. Wal Mart has them cheap.....if that helps.

Thanks WiseWife. I've heard of that and want to try it sometime. Funny, I had this food processor collecting dust in my pantry for 20 years. Gave it to my sister-in-law a couple years ago and NOW I find all sorts of great recipes where that little sucker would come in handy now! emoticon

How do you "grate" your cauli-rice?

I can remember when I thought I had to have rice, potatoes, or pasta and some kind of bread with both lunch AND supper. LOL. We have come a long way.

Thanks Morticia. I recently added a whey protein isolate and that seems to be when the pounds came on. Bloated up 8 lbs, then steadied out at this 3 lb gain.

My dinner consists of a HUGE tossed greens salad topped with a boiled egg and 2 Tbls of low carb dressing and my "hunk o' meat".

It was tough giving up the usual spuds, rice or pasta side dish in the beginning, though now I don't really miss them. When I'm Jonesin' for them I usually make a twice baked cauliflower dish...

I was always used to eating no breakfast, minimal lunch, and a huge supper so I can relate. Changing eating habits is hard.

ARRRRGH! emoticon

I keep losing and finding the same frickin three pounds! They've stayed with me for this entire week, so I guess it's time to move my ticker back.
Bummer... emoticon

My clothes are roomier, I'm stronger and the inches are coming down but man this scale thing is depressing and I'm having a hard time keeping within my calorie range of 1200-1600. (Been closer to 1700-1800).

I think I need to cut my dinner meat portions down... I LOVE meat, look forward to dinner everyday. I suppose that's the old farm girl in me.

OK, whine over. Hope everyone is doing well. The weather is gorgeous and I'm an hour late for my walk. Just needed to vent my frustrations.

It sounds like many of us need to up our game and get this weight off. LOL. We have several things going for us. Usually the summer heat makes you want to eat less and eat healthier food which is lighter. There will be a lot of healthy veggies and fruits available. There are no major food/candy holidays for a while. And it's not too cold to exercise. If we get up early or do it late in the evening we can avoid the heat.

yaay, Peggy! As for me, I avoid the scale. I don't know why...I just don't like using it. However, this week I am noticing that my clothes are fitting looser so I take that as a sign that I am moving forward now. I am only about 1 1/2 sizes away from my original size goal and I do have normal blood sugars now so I cannot get too frustrated when I think about where they were a year ago...down right scarey!

Hi All,
I can't help it - I have to tell someone! I have broken my 3 month plateau by taking myself back to induction for the past three days! I feel great and the scale is finally starting to nudge downward - just a fraction so far, but it sure feels good! I'm afraid to say this to any other teams, because they don't understand low carbing. Thanks everybody!

I have been stuck at my weight for so long now I think my body has forgotten how to lose.

Since I have been on the Byetta though I have lost inches from my waist line. That's good, but as soon as I quit taking it I thicken back up.

Tells me there is still a hidden problem I have not yet figured out, but I'm working on it!

Still gaining & losing the same 3 pounds, but with the health issues I'm fighting right now I'm not going to worry about it. Once I get things sorted out (almost there I think) then the weight should take care of itself.

Been doing better.. no change in my weight, but had a huge BINGE day the other weekend, but all in all i have been good.. going to the gym 5-6 days a week.. been getting my water in, and cutting down the booze!! emoticon

It's not the goal.. it's the steping over the doughnuts part that motivates me...

I finally climbed on the scale this morning. I hadn't lost but I hadn't gained, so it's a small victory. I had eaten quite a bit of cantalope yesterday. It tasted too good.

I'm doing pretty good right now and have lost another pound and a half but I still feel like I am a meal away from piling on 10 pounds. I hate always having to fret over every bite but with my metabolism it's a way of life.
