that's a great idea, carol. i'll save some for purses, but a lot of the time (except summer) i'll toss 'em in the wood stove. i used to save scraps of fabric and batting, but then realized i'm trying to use up my fabric...if i save the bits and pieces, i'm not DONE. so fabric goes in the fire, too.

I have a big shopping bag next to my cutting table and all scraps that are too little to use go in it. THis includes bits of batting, etc. I made a dog bed for my dogs and stuffed it with bits and it works great! I have sewed batting pieces together for charity quilts but only if they are a decent size. We fabriholics can't bear to throw anything out! Carol

I save mine and use it to make mini quilt sandwiches. I use these to practice machine quilting or as a pad for ironing my applique pieces.

I saw the ornaments, too! I think they are a great gift idea! I am going to give them a try, although I have never tried paper piecing, it's such a small project, I am going to start out small!

Good luck with your little pieces of batting!

There is a tape that you can iron on to sew them together for the bigger pieces. They make wonderful pot holders. And I save all of my scraps, batting, etc in a large bag. When it is full, i give it to a woman who makes dog beds for the local shelters. She uses it as stuffing and since it is all washable, the whole thing can be washed. Makes me feel like I am contributing. Carol

Leftover batting (the blanket kind, not the puffy kind) makes the best disposable dust cloths. I cut them into squares and use them alone, with pledge, or with Old English. Yay!

I use them for pot holders and crafts. Sometimes I sew them together to use them in wall hangings, table runners or place mats.
