I hope this gives you some encouragement and hope: I started using first a Bodybugg (later switching to a BodyMedia Fit LINK) and SparkPeople in January 2010. It took time, but I lost a total of 112 lbs. and have been in 'maintenance mode' now for about six months. Some of the keys for me: using the feedback from my device to get me up and moving regularly; using SparkPeople for encouragement, motivation and support; realizing that there were going to be ups and downs and bumps along the way. I went from a morbidly obese couch potato to a healthy, active runner and am a completely different person today. The combination of SparkPeople and BodyMedia is powerful if you'll put it to work for yourself, especially now with the ability to sync data between the two. Good luck!
