I was going to look up where you can set that up on BodyMedia, thanks for posting that, Cassie! I discovered that option in BodyMedia just a couple of weeks ago; Bodybugg does not offer that so the generic calorie item is the only way to put in one entry on their site. It is useful to have the totals on the BodyMedia site, but I was using the food tracker here before I got mine and have a lot of 'favorites' saved so it's reasonably quick and easy to do my tracking here.

Beth, if you look under the Nutrition tab of the Body Media interface you'll see Daily Estimate. That's where you can enter your total calories for the day. On days I track, I do it here since I've used SP for such a long time. Then I can enter my total on the BM site. I can also enter a ballpark estimate there as well, even if i haven't tracked each specific food item for that day.

Hit my goal weight 9/16/11 and aim to remain there for good!

I didn't know you could add a generic calorie total on BodyMedia! I'm going to have to give that a try :) Thanks for the info. I like to track mine on SP also but I like how on BM I can see my calorie deficit/suplus. And most of the foods I have to manually enter on BodyMedia and its getting annoying! lol

I like that idea about a summary calories level in BMF... THanks!

I use a BodyMedia Fit, but it works in a similar fashion. I track all my food in SP, and at the end of the day I enter a calorie total for the day in my BMF Activity Manager.

I have an app on my phone that links to the BMF using Bluetooth, which gives me to-the-minute tracking, so if I check it before and after I work out, I can figure how much I burned during the workout. I do enter that into SP, but I don't know if I'll keep doing that. I do like having the record of what I did when.

I don't transfer my calories burned back to SP. I use the reports on the Body Media site for the more accurate tracking.

That is very helpful! Thank you! Do you (or anyone else reading) transfer your calories burned back to SP at then end of the day?

What many of us have done is created a generic foor on the bodybugg site with a value of 100 calories, then just have one entry there for the whole day with the totals from the food tracker here. If you had 1450 calories in the day, then you would enter 14.5 units of the generic food on the bodybugg site. On one of the older threads here there is a suggested brekdown for carbs, fats, protein on the generic food group, but I'm working from my phone and can't immediately find it. I prefer the food tracker here on SP, but others prefer the one on bodybugg. Most don't track everything both places. Hope that helps some!

I am a new user to SP and have been using my Body BuggSP for a month or so. I find the BB site to be tedious and not user friendly (understatement) but love the feedback from the device. I would love to hear from those that use both sites to track.

I would like to track my food with SP b/c it's so much easier to use and has an active online community...do I just take my daily calories consumed as calculated by SP and enter them into the food tracker as a meal or in the nutrional info option? Or is it easier/more efficient to enter my total calories burned into the SP site?

Would love to hear from those who have been doing this!

Thanks, Ashley
