The Link has been well worth the money to me because I check my calorie burn throughout the day on my phone to make sure I'm moving enough--I can easily be a slug without the instant feedback. I don't use it for recording nutrition (I do that here), I just do an estimate at the end of the day based on my SP log. It all depends on how you think you'll use it; if you want to be able to see the data any time, anywhere, the Link is worth the money. If it's not important to you to see it all the time, then it might not be worth it.

I want to purchase one of these off amazon but I don't know if I need the link version or not for $50 more. I live by my phone so I think I would like that, but at the same time I'm not planning on recording my food on it (just here). I more want to see the reports and keep track of my calories burned. I have hashimotos thyroiditis and I thought maybe it would help me keep on track of my wildly variant metabolism.
Any thoughts? Is the link worth the extra $? Is the smaller size core worth the $20 over the larger regular non-link model?
