I have had mine since January & sleep tracking/laying down it has been pretty accurate on. I never have had any problem like that, so I think you should call BodyMedia. I've got the core model & I love it. When I actually enter my food, I lose weight. Now it's just getting consistent with tracking that I've got to work on. I hope you find a resolution!

I have talk to representative on an occasion. I had a couple concerns and the sleep was one of them, because I work 3 twelve hour night shifts and I'm able to accurately have my sleep monitored. Because of my nights is overlapping and showing more hours of my sleeping pattern. I clearly know that I never sleep 10 - 12 hours straight. I hope that they will give us night workers some kind of way to customize our monitors for more accuracies. I was told they didn't think about shift workers. Maybe this is something that's in the works.

Progress may be slow, but it happens!

It always shows that I'm laying down in the evening, somewhere between 6:00 pm up to 7:40 pm. The times vary but it's always during that time period. The length of time it shows that I lay down is the same though, it always shows me laying down for 30 minutes. I am really kinda sorry that I bought this thing as I've had a lot of problems with it, as you can tell from the post. I"m not sure if the problem is that it came from Amazon and maybe the packers did something by mistake when they were packing it and getting it ready to ship or not. I wouldn't have bought it if from somewhere else because I got the link for $130.00 with coupon, prime member and new visa card. If I call the 1 800 number all I get from them is that I need to talk to Bodymedia because all they handle is website errors. And Bodymedia just gives a standard reply. It shouldn't be much different than Bodybugg, they are the ones who make Bodybugg so I don't get why the devices are so different or why I'm having these problems. I don't think it loses contact with my skin, it's on pretty snug, (tight sometimes) although I can still slip my 2 fingers underneath like instructions say to do.

I've never had that happen in nearly two years of owning a Body Media. I've had the opposite happen (thinks I'm up and awake in the middle of the night) but I think that's because it loses contact with my skin.

I've never seen that happen, but I've only had the Bodymedia device a relatively short time (maybe a month). I had a bodybugg before that, never happened with it, either. Is there any consistency with when that occurs? Any chance it could have lost contact with your skin for a time? I can't think of any other reason why it would do that unless it was defective in some way or wasn't registering due to poor contact. I have not had to contact customer service about anything yet.

Anyone else see this behavior or know anything that would help?

I've been having problems with my Bodymedia registering me as laying down or sleeping at times that I've been up doing dishes or making supper, or even at the gym. Has anyone else had that problem? I would like credit for what I'm doing as most do I"m sure, otherwise we wouldn't have bought these devices. Has anyone had success talking with customer service on the phone? I keep getting the same old thing that they only handle the website (I"m doing the Jillian plan)
