I think you use it for general trends. If the scale isn't moving at all despite deficits, then there's likely some error on the device's part, your part, or both when it comes to calories in and out. But over time it will still give you the right idea of how much you're burning and how to adjust your intake accordingly.

I have no doubt that it is not accurate, (I know that it doesn't give me the correct number of calories burned) but I go on averages. I've had mine for awhile now and I know if I have a high calorie burn day or a low day and adjust my calories accordingly - I don't worry about my calories strictly on a day to day scale, but more on the week scale. For instance, do I think I've come close to burning 3500 calories/week. It helps keep me sane and from not obsessing. I am sure you'll figure out a system that will work for you, too.

Don't get me wrong, I love my BodyMedia Fit but I get nervous that it may be overestimating my calorie burn and if there is a 10% give or take that can be up to 200 calories a day. Does anyone else worry about this or am I just nit picking?
