When I got mine, I hated the tracking there as well. Instead of fighting with it, I just created a "general" food (100 calories) and still used Spark to track since I liked it better. Then at the end of the day, if Spark said I ate 1550 calories, I'd input 15.5 servings of my "general" food and be able to see a breakdown of what I did. It worked out really well
