These gadgets are great at many things, but step counting is not anywhere near as accurate as an actual pedometer. I've been using my bodybugg for about 19 months now, and while I love it for all the other feedback it gives me, I know it doesn't count completely correctly.

Thanks, I was afraid of that. I have a step counter also. I guess I have to bring that out.

I have had mine for two years. It has never counted the steps correctly. It counts about half of the steps I take. I still have to wear my Omron pedometer to count my steps accurately. I tried complaining to Body Media, they assured me that it was impossible to count wrong! A friend of mine has one and she says her's counts accurately!

I still use it because the other functions seem to be accurate. I DO wish, however mine was accurate to within several hundred steps. It would certainly maake my life simpler..........

Is anyone else having problems with the BMF step counting function? I walk the exact same way to work from the train 5 days a week, and the exact same loop at lunch. Some days I have over 10,000 steps and some days, like today, 4453. I believe the 10,000 number because it is at least 1800 steps in each direction, not 300 or 400. I wonder if the battery is going? I have had it for 8 months
