Hi,
I had never heard of Dr. Gould before, but I just went and took a look at his site. I was impressed, and decided to sign up for his 12 week course. I really need to get refocusses, and maybe the course will help me with that.
I'll keep you posted.
Hugs,
Leslie

Oohlala,

I dont think it is inappropriate that you are inviting folks to this team because ALL of the teams support spark people. =) Just my two cents.

I don't want to seem like I am inappropriately trolling for members here, but I am on a very small team devoted just to Gould's book. There are only two of us, and it is hard to keep the ball rolling, but if any of you check his book out and think it would work for you to have another place to post, please stop by. It goes just by the name Shrink Yourself. I think it could be a big support to many, and better than some that have a higher profile.

I have read and have his book; he is my present emotional eating issue boyfriend, although he probably doesn't know it. IMO, he has the least jargon of what's out there. He breaks the emotional difficulties into insightful facets and helps me probe what is going on, and even better, the cost of continuing. It's still a bumpy ride, as anyone has seen from my posts on the 21-day binge free thread, but I'm gladder I've found his book than I have been(about a book) in a long time, having sworn off diet/eating books for the most part for the last few years because I read so mcuh and changed so little. Now, I think I've found a real ally.

Please keep us posted Margo since I might buy the book if you think it helps you.

I liked the stuff on his site enough to sign up for the "four days of free lessons" thing. Basically, it's an email a day, full of insightful information. Then I liked THOSE enough that I checked his book out from the library. I got about halfway through it and found that I kept wanting to underline or highlight things I was reading, so I gave in and ordered a copy online. I ordered it used, off Half.com, and I think with shipping it was about $9.

He has a quiz on that site and it is eye opening to why we want to lose weight, stop binging and have such a difficult time. FYI

Web site is www.shrinkyourself.com. I was wondering if anyone has ever read his book or tried his method for binge eating. I would like to try it but there is a price and I don't mind paying for something that could help but not if it's a lot of hooky pooky jumble. Any input anyone?
