I have made some stuff from thrift store finds, but usually around here the stuff in thrift stores is worn clean out. I use alot of remnents from Jo-Annes, that stuff is automatically 50% off. Of course free is better - when I first started sewing I just went through my MIL's scraps.
You're a sewer-there was a girl on Pinterest who would take stuff she bought in thrift stores and remake it into something totally new and cute-great idea! I made some clothes for my sons when they were little and some stuff for me,but back then you could buy remants very cheap-now sewing can be expensive!
