Thank you for this! I had tried this a couple times before and also to regrow romaine and small heads of lettuce. I have had no luck with them. I did find that with romaine you need to cut a cross cut slit in the stem part of what's left over and it grew about one inch and then died and my lettuce head didn't work. As far as the onions, they developed mold. Not sure what went wrong? I have tried replanting them in organic soil though - and that worked great and they grew fast. Thank you again for this -- Will give it a go again and try to make it work - maybe figure out what went wrong.
Did you know that you can actually re-grow green onions? You are not going to believe this until you try it for yourself. Hopefully my photos will make you a believer! I first saw this idea here. I had to give it a try myself.
