We measured the sprouts last night (not counting what hubby kept eating) and had 2 cups from 1/3 cup of beans to begin with. I made a stir fry and used some of the sprouts. We rinsed them and put them back in their little hide-away and low and behold, we still have 2 cups again this morning!! Salad with sprouts tonight!
When we rinsed them last night, there were little tiny tails on the beans. This morning when we rinsed again, the tails were about 3/4 inches long! My little sprouts are so excited about their little sprouts.

I soak my beans in room temperature water for 12-20 hours. Then I rinse them and put in a colander. I put the colander in a large pot with some water at the bottom. I cover and put it in a warm place. I have always used metal pots and they sprout in dark. I have not tried any other way. Good Luck!

I am thinking of sprouting some mung beans in the clear plastic container my strawberries came in from the grocery store. What do y'all think? Any pointers. The last time I made sprouts I was a sprout and that's been a long time ago!
