I am going to try this next weekend. The next town over has a small cheese making store. I am going to stop in and get the stuff to go in the milk. I have never done this before so it will be interesting.

She stated here that you could feed it to the pigs, I wasn't sure if she meant the barnyard variety or the "pigs" in the family emoticon

This was the link on that page for what to do with whey

Thanks for the link, too bad I didn't have this recipe when I had my dairy goats, no hang on I couldn't stand goats cheese, I would never been able to eat it.

Strained yogurt cheese or labneh is very popular here in Australia, it's nice rolled in dukkah and served on a cheese board.

I loved the ideas for using the whey here as well.

I like using it for a dip...
Mix in my homemade onion soup mix, serve with fresh veggies and crackers.
Or spread it plain on a bagel
Or add fresh mashed strawberries and a tad of sugar for a fruit dip.

How to Make Fromage Blanc {Raw, Cultured Soft Cheese}

Here is a link to making your own soft, spreadable cheese from Prairie Homestead...

But let’s face it- as fancy as the name is, this cheese is just as down-to-earth as I am.

It’s pretty much cheese-in-a-bag. Oh yeah, that’s what I’m talking about… ;)

There are a million-and-one versions of this cheese floating around the ‘net. Some folks mistakenly call it “cream cheese,” but that’s not entirely accurate, since it doesn’t call for cream. (Get my DIY cream cheese recipe here.)
