Hot or cool, I would love to come join you in your big kitchen! I have NO counter space in my kitchen. There is a bit of formica at the side of the sink where I have the draining rack. So I bought a rolling butcher block cart, which I love, but it's very hard to share the kitchen with a second cook and I miss that.
So what will you all be canning on Can it Forward Day? My first project will be putting up peaches. There are very few fruits that don't turn my stomach once they've been canned, but I never tire of peach cobbler.

on the weekends i can, since my kitchen does get so hot i wont cook. I will grill or go out. I put out an event on my facebook to see if anyone from there will and so far only my husband has said yes, not like he had much of a say :)
I would love to get together and can with someone. I use to do it with my mom when I was in high school and really enjoyed it. But ya it does get hot with all that boiling. If I could just get my husband interested in canning.

I thought maybe it was going to be a charitable event. But seems like a push to get people to can together. I've had friends ask me about making jams, pickles, etc and would show them what I do if anyone was truly interested. Generally speaking I am so blasted hot when I am canning stuff that I'm happy to have the kitchen to myself. Sounds like it could be fun if you had a big, cool kitchen and lots of iced tea!

I was just wondering how many people are going to do this on August 13? I am planning a party but doubting people around here will show cause they don't understand it. And that you have to make it yourself, my husband has a lazy family.
