I love your weight "slide", I don't know what to call it, gage? The lips are cute and I am so proud of you! Such a nice Easter at you house, the food was delicious but the family is what made the day so special. (not to mention the center of attention, baby Mabel) XOXOXOXO Mum

I have used my food saver to the point I burnt it up! I got it as a surprise from my husband right when they came out! He was a hunter & we butchered whole deer & "saved" every tid bit! Goose, duck, fish, turkey! I still have a freezer FULL! I'm not worried about the "use by" date, because I know none of it will freezer burn. I definately need a new one though! My daughters boyfriend is a hunter just like her dad!

I have bought 2 food savers. My second one works but I have not used it in the last year. They do work well.

I use Tupperware freezer mates because it's reusable which makes it environmentally friendly, it's modular which maximizes use of freezer space, and it's free after the initial purchase. There is also the lifetime guarantee so it is replaced for free for a lifetime if you break it and - very important - you must save all the broken pieces plus the other parts that go with it (inserts, seals, etc, even if they are not broken), to get a replacement for free.
I also use ziplocs for certain things; I just press the air out as I seal the individual bags, for example family size packs of chicken bought on sale, then individual chicken breasts or drumsticks or etc one per ea storage or sandwich bag; then I put the bags inside a large freezer bag.
I do not ever experience freezer burn.

I use ziplock bags and squeeze the air out manually - or I wrap individual items (like rolls) in plastic wrap, then put in ziplock bag - DH has a food saver, which he used for about 2 weeks...

I can't beleive you jsut said that Missnuggy. Yesterday I bought the waffle plates for my Cusinart Griddler...HaHa.... I have a website for bags for FoodSaver. The site is called The Sweet Attack Shoppe. Their bags are wonderful and so much cheaper than FoodSaver. Here is the link... www.thesweetattack.com/page/page/1617042.h tm

I do the same thing as you do. Last year we used it for the garden. No more freezer burn. Love it.

My Son and Daughter both use a food saver. I have been in their kitchen when they use it, I really am impressed. I just refrain from buying another "thing" to have around. I guess I should get rid of a less important "thing" that I have, like my waffel iron, hahahahaha, and purchase a food saver. Missnuggy

I love my FoodSaver. I have it on my kitchen counter and use it all the time. For meats, I buy in bulk and then package into my family size portions. For fruits and veggies from the yard or from the farmers market.
