So true. Thanks for sharing everyone. I had to get that out in the open so that we can all move foward to our goals.

I think it was best said earlier. That these people are not happy with themselves and want others to be miserable along with them. I know it hurts..It upsets me to read this. But you have much more going for you than they do. Keep the power of confidence in what you are doing because I bet you came across two extremely insecure people. You're better than them. Keep moving forward with your goals.

I totally agree. I try to be really nice and polite to folks, mainly because when I had to deal with the public everyday, I knew how it felt to be treated like crap. I figure it might make for good karma somewhere right!!

So, in the spirit of compliments, I think you guys are great for motivating others by your posts and in this case, something that made us feel horrid at one time. It's very hard to share things like this with others sometimes, so I think you guys are brave as well. Losing weight is seriously the hardest thing I've ever had to do. I seriously thought having a baby would be the hardest, but even though that wasn't easy, if I could do it over again and get rid of all the weight....I'd do it!!

Tears came to my eyes just reading your stories. I am so sorry that you all had to endure such meanness!

I am sort of the niceness police with my friends/family, and get on people for saying those kinds of things (or racism, homophobia, etc.). I have ended friendships over it. :(

You are all awesome, gorgeous/handsome people. One of the things we can do to oppose the mean side out there is to say nice things to strangers (and of course people we know). A sincere compliment can really make someone's day!

Wow Jose I'm really sorry you ran into some real a$$ holes what jerks....I hope you know and realize your worth....Once I was in a restaurant picking up an order and there were three people at the bar...the moment I walked in they zoned in on me...and started talking about me they were not discrete or quiet about it either...they all but got into my face talking about me...I was so ashamed and embarrassed that it bother me for about a year just those three idiots making others out there feel like crap....I completely understood what you said about feeling worthless....like I didn't matter at all...it took a year of therapy for me to get over that

I thought of another one. I was working in a bank, and I had helped a lady with some stuff, when she called back later in the day and wanted to speak to someone but she didn't know her name. She was the blonde "really heavyset" girl behind the teller line. I was like "Yep, that's me." Felt like crap that out of all the ways to try to describe me, that was what she chose. Makes me more conscious of how I word things to other people. I had to make it through the rest of the day without crying and it was so hard.

Yeah, sometimes people really suck. But, on the other hand there are really great people out there too...like you guys on spark!

Thanks for sharing your stories about your experiences. Just some people treat others inferior to them just because they more or look different than them just to see themselves. They spoke to me in spanish which in houston if you do that means you dont know english and probrably arent making much money. So I am sure they wanted to get a cheap laugh on the expense of impressing the friend he was with or what not.

What a couple of pathetic "jerks" you ran into to. I hope it was a monentary lapse in judgement on their part. Otherwise, I would have to feel sorry for "them", going through their lives with that kind of dark ugliness attached to them. I think we all have had those moments in our lives where someone has said or done something, intentionally or not, to make us feel bad about ourselves.

I remember overhearing someone pointing out a friend of mine, by descriing her as "the thin one". Of course, that meant I was "the fat one". My friend was much older than me, much taller, had dark hair (mine was blonde), there where lots of other features they could have used to distinguish between us, but NO, they had to use weight. They didn't mean for me to overhear, and yet, 30 years later, I still hear that comment in my head. The shock and hurt has diminished over time. But, I still look around when in a group to see if I am "the fat one". I still just want to blend in and not stand out.

I am sorry that you had the bad luck to run into those "jerks". I am sorry that we all have had to deal with people who have made us feel bad about ourselves. I hope we all have learned to value ourselves for who we truly are. But it really sucks sometimes, doesn't it! And it hurts! I just try to be extra nice to everyone I meet and hopefully make up for the ugliness of people like that!

I didn't have a past problem with my weight or being picked on, but it sure is a buzzkill everytime someone comes in my house and sees older pictures of me. There is always that comment about how I used to look, like when my 10 yr old niece told me "Wow, you used to be skinny."

Man, I'm sorry that happened to you. I always remember my parents telling me to not let people have to power to make you feel less than you are. Easier said than done. I actually remember one time in high school when I tripped up the stairs with all these guys sitting on the stairs and they said "Damn, white b*&%ch can't even walk up the stairs". I also remember when I wore this black and white outfit and I heard the people behind me making Shamu comments. There are many more, but those are the ones that have stuck for a long time. Sucks for sure. Just know that you are a better person than they are. They're just miserable people and find the need to make others miserable as well.

I think most of us never hear the fat jokes people say behind our backs and I dont think I ever heard of on said to my face but this past Saturday I had someone that has no moral ask me something that I made me feel angy and shocked, depressed all at the same time. I was coming out with my family from the chinese buffet carrying my daughter when two men approached me and ask if there is any food left or should they turn back right now. At first I was shocked that someone would even ask me that and took a couple of seconds what they really meant to say. I was first of angry and depressed all at once. I stayed in my head for the rest of the day and I could not help feeling worthless as someone those two guys looked down upon for a cheap laugh. I dont think i could describe the emotions that filled me the rest of the day. I had not even eaten alot at this place but still felt like I had. I was wondering if any of you have felt this out there on gamers fit.
