It may burn more calories, but my feet/legs would be angry about all that standing. :o)
I have been known to set a timer (15 to 60 minutes, depending on how ambitious I am feeling!) so that I have to get up every so often and do something else. Sometimes I use this system to get things done like housework, or I just go up and down the stairs a couple of times during each break. It does seem that anything past 40 minutes or so leaves me feeling like a lump, as you say.
If you really want to gamify it, you could set a die next to your computer and roll it to decide what exercise/chore/anything you will do on your breaks. =)
I got to googling and found this.
Hello and welcome to the team...glad to have you join us...I'm not a pc gamer...so I'm not sure about how that....but how is he burning anything just standing still....interesting...

Hi! I'm a newbie!
But I wanted to see if you all had anything that you did to try to keep your blood flowing while PC gaming?
I watched a youtube video for some guy that calls himself the "Healthy gamer" and he said that he made a standing desk to try to stay healthy while gaming. He said that if you stand instead of sit for 6 hrs a day you will burn 300 calories.
What are your thoughts on this? Does this seem right?
