Nice to hear all the stories from different people on how their weight loss journey started. Good luck to all of us.

For me, I was around 335 lbs and had moved to Lubbock and was finding it VERY difficult to find clothes to fit me. I could fit into some size 26 but 28 is what was comfortable and I just couldn't find that size even at the plus size stores. I felt like crap. I had sleep apnea and high blood pressure. My knees and hips ached all the time as did my back. I was on my feet a lot at work and was just in so much pain when I got off I hated to come in to work the next day knowing I was going to hurt again that night. I was eating ibuprofen by the handful.
I needed to get rid of some of this weight. I got down to the 230's once and then started school and have gained some of that back. I'm now pretty much staying in the 250-260 range but really need to kick it in gear and get back to losing again.
I was doing okay on our last BL challenge until I had the car accident and could not go to the store (kind of hard to go grocery shopping on a motorcycle!) so was just eating crap that was in the cupboards and freezer. More carbs than balanced and that put me off my game again. Still don't have a car of my own but I do have a loaner from a dealership (long story there on the loaner but suffice to say the car I was going to purchase went to auction instead of them selling it to me in the condition it was in - a good thing - and we are looking for one that meets my requirements all around including payments) and hope to get to the store tonight or tomorrow! Fresh fruits and veggies! woohoo!!!

incredible story GBoy. I have gotten my weight down to 275 and then lost steam and gained it all back to 330. Where I am today. I know I what I have to do its just applying it sometimes in this busy life we all have to deal and juggle.

My journey started in 2009. I reached 430 pounds. I knew I was big, but I had no idea I was over 400 pounds. I was in denial. I had high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Finding clothes I liked was hard, getting in and out of my car was hard, I had constant heart palpitations and shooting pains. I missed playing my favorite sport, soccer. My older brother still plays in an adult league. My younger brother plays professional soccer. Looking at them I was just disappointed in myself that I went from a soccer player to being 430 pounds.

In 2009 I lost 80 pounds in 3 months, then I got complacent and started slowly gaining back about 10 pounds. In 2010 I became vegan for 4 months and I dropped all the way down to 314 pounds. I had lost 116 pounds over 2 years and I was happy. I was so close to breaking into the 200s. That never happened. I went on a vacation to Miami and by the time I got back I was completely off my program. That was June 2010. Since then I regained 90 pounds.

This year I became determined to finish what I started. I want to finally lose the weight and be off medication for blood pressure and cholesterol. I want to play soccer again. I want to buy a shirt from the same stores that my brothers shop at. My dream is to fit in a soccer jersey. For those that don't know, nobody makes soccer jersey's in big & tall sizes. Sometimes you will find a 3X, but since they run small it's more like a 2X.

Every month I have been taking a picture of myself in a soccer jersey. Once I reach that goal I will post a picture of myself wearing that jersey on here so everybody can see my transformation.

* I go to Miami again in 2 weeks. I refuse to make the same mistake twice!

Well I think mine has become renewed again after my wife looked into cleaning out our closet this past Friday. Pulled everything out of the closet and found alot of clothes in there that did not fit. It just made me realize from where I have come from in terms of size. We donated alot of clothes from the cleanout but found clothes we wanted to keep for later to fit into. The clothes that I am talking about are the one on my spark page with me and my wife. That shirt was so lose on me when I started dating her so that is where I want to start my goal to try to get back to but after i reach that I want to keep moving past that.

I had a friend of mine come to me and say I am going to weight watchers. Do you want to go with me? I said yes, and I didn't realize how much overweight I was until that first meeting. I lost 40 lbs. and have kept it off for 3 years now.

Quite frankly...finding a site like this that I can give and get support...I don't like to work out alone...but those available to me at the moment...don't seem to work out...(no pun). So this is what I needed for this time in my life. Just to know that I will be coming on here every day and reporting in...and not wanting to come up short...is enough for me. Accountability. I am excited to see the change that will progress over the next year...two...more.
