The pokewalker is what comes with the DS games Pokemon:Heart Gold and/or Pokemon:Soul Silver. It's what you "take your Pokemon on a walk" with. There are other things within the game it does (like "yellow road" path where you can get a surfing picachu and a flying picachu (actually on the walker, think dreamcast mini controller/screen)---note: do NOT put them in the daycare, they will lose the special moves), but it does function as a regular pedometer and keeps track of the current day and seven days past on the poke walker itself, allowing time to track your steps onto SparkPeople if you want to. Admittedly, I use it more for the pedometer than the game... :)

What is a pokewalker? I know that the Nintendo 3DS has a built in pedometer in it that gives you coins to be used for the mii games in the system. Is that a game using pokemon. I also found that the 3DS can also download a pokedex program that when you take it with you all over town you pick up pokemon along the way. Like a real life pokemon adventrure.

Yay! I'm not the only one :)
I remember the PT:Walking game. I saw it on clearance at Target last year and it was $30-ish and I didn't want to spend that much then. I might try to look and see if I can still find it.

Lol, I'm 30 and use both my pokewalker (total step count) and my pedometer from the DS game "Personal Trainer: Walking" ("active walking" (only counts if activity is more than 10 seconds long) and shows a graph over time per day). I usually get about half of the total count on the walking one, but both are far better than the cheapies at Wal-Mart. :)

I bought Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver back when they launched and they came with a pedometer called the Pokewalker. I have been using this as motivation to go out and walk lately, LoL. Yes, I'm 32 and walk my Pokemon :P Laugh and point if you must, but it is the motivation I need to go for a walk sometimes.
I just came in from (my second!) walk of the day and was transferring my data to my DS and realized how silly it was, but thought I'd share in case I am not alone emoticon
