I only started playing Champions in the past couple of month but I love it. It is currently my most played MMO outside of Guild Wars. Of the big three subscription games that went F2P (DDO, LOTRO & Champions), I thought it had the weakest matrix for free to play gamers. However, I tried it, was hooked and feel it has a lot to offer the free to play gamer if you are content with the pre-made classes and the available costume choices. I've bought extra bag space and a couple adventure packs (on sale for $1 each), but that's all so far. If you want an MMO that's not fantasy, I would say give it a try.
Nice, thanks for the heads up. How is the online play BTW? I've heard of it, but haven't played yet.
They had a deal with several of their products opening up Farmville stuff and I took advantage of that back in the day. lol Didn't go up and down the street looking for codes, but that isn't a bad idea. I can just picture it.

Funny story about this. I'm not that proud, so the other day I stopped by a local 7-11 and walked up an down the street looking for discarded cups to get the codes from them. (My girlfriend hates it when I do this.) Didn't find any cups, but I did find a $20 bill lying on the ground. So I bought a large Slurpee and pocketed the rest.
If you play Champions Online and drink Slurpees from 7-11, you are in luck! Slurpee currently has a promotion going on through their rewards program that can net you some Cryptic points to spend in game or a month of Gold access. When you buy a Slurpee there is a code on the cup that you enter at the Slurpee.com web site to earn points. The bigger the cup the more the points.
10 Slurpee points can be trading in for 800 Cryptic points ($10 value).
20 Slurpee points can be traded in for 1 Month of Gold ($15 value).
I can't find written confirmation about the end date, but from what I've heard the promotion runs through the end of July.
