Indeed..lots of older "classic" games. i was thrilled when i came across California Games. i felt like a little kid again..and wow..the graphics that were "Awesome" at the time..make me giggle now..but it's fun.
i think my younger ones love the monster truck one..i can't remember exactly but they love the open 'combat' round where the goal is to drive your "Monster Truck" into the other to disable it..like a virtual bumper cars..they dont grasp the racing aspect though. They also love Wii Sports. My 5yo is great at the golf game.
for a bit of fun, i like Lego Indiana Jones. (1-2) it follows the story lines pretty well and its fun to see the lego characters make faces.
I like Gold's Cardio Gym for my upper body workout.
I also recently bought Tetris. (1-4) may be a bit advanced yet for your little ones but it's a "classic"

lol, yeah, I kind of got that from what you are saying. It is a little easier pointing in that then some of the other pointing type activities.

Oh, I guess I should clarify--the second player in Galaxy 2 is SUPPOSED to point at the screen to do those things, she really hasn't been, but by just having the controller she still feels like she's helping.
edit-spelling.

No, not anymore. It was just too much for me and I was losing focus and life's events were too crazy and it just wasn't so much fun and, therefore, becoming more work than it had been...*shrugs*...I was there for a year and a half and I needed a change. BUT, there are lots of Wii teams, so I'm sure that you'll find some that you really enjoy.
Right now, I'm so focused on the Corinthium team I'm on, that I'm not doing much else with any of my other teams. I'll be starting back up on BLC14 on Sept. 15th, so those will probably keep me mostly busy. It's nice to be able to focus on me again. :)

That is just what I needed to hear, thank you! Yeah, my daughter is pretty good on Kidzui (google it if new to you...GREAT for kids on the computer). She has had some of the same learning curve on the Wii...mostly frustration at any games that require pointing.
BTW, are you still leading the Wii group? Now that I am back on track with the Wii, I may have to pop over there as well.

My 3-yr. old likes New Super Mario Bros. and Wii Fit--she's an "adult" on the game, as she was grandfathered in from the original--plus has a "baby" setting that is just the weigh-in where you hold the baby (at least for little ones, my son is 10 months old), that I think goes to 3...maybe it's at 3 that it changes over, but I can't remember as we didn't use that.
Also, she really likes to watch Mario Galaxy. The second one also allows a second player that can do minor things--collecting coins/items and starbits. That way she feels like she's doing something, even with not being able to point to the screen...
although she's now trying to play Wii Fit by herself and is starting to be able to point at the screen. (btw, I went as far as selecting her character, and she's now doing a short run on the "plus" features. she can get 2 out of 3 questions right at the end (the counting the dogs part she misses).)
She's been playing for a while, now--she started playing Nintendogs when she started potty training around 2 yrs. old (it kept her on the potty! lol) and Wii Fit for about as long. I'm not sure how much your kids have played, but they can definitely be able to pick it up pretty fast. She's a pro at Mario Bros. (both wii and ds) now and can probably do a few levels better than me.

lol, yeah I might have some fun with those "kids" games too..really looking forward to getting my hands on the new Mario Galaxy.
I don't know what happened. Something just snapped in me and I switched from Halo to Farmville. I've always kind of liked these light hearted games, but I just can't commit to the "hard core" games as much anymore.
Hey Ryan good to see you here is what I would suggest for kids your age....
first go for the kid friendly remotes amazon sell them and I bought my 4 yr old niece one and she loves it and it works well with the wii system heres the link
then the games lets see 1. super mario galaxy 1 and 2 2. New super mario bros 3. wii music good game overlooked 4. warriorland shake it so much fun 5. wii sports 6. wii resort 7. animal crossing
I think your kids would enjoy these
Now for you
1. My fitness coach 2. walk it out 3. just dance 4. Outdoor challenge 1 or 2 lots of fun kids may enjoy this one also 5. The biggest loser 6. Ea sports active 7. More active (Ea sports) 8. wii fit plus
Great, thanks. It's fun seeing my kids do these things too. My daughter was doing the bicycle race on Wii Resort and really getting a workout. She was moving her little arms as fast as she could. Too funny.

Yes, it's entirely free play on "quick play". There is another category where you have knock out challenges (lowest score gets dropped, etc.) and you don't have to play that one.
The music doesn't stop until the song is done, and you'll see a ranking of how you did, based on how rhythmic you were. If they just move around, they're bound to get some points just through luck, even if they have no idea what they're really doing.

Thanks! My kids are pretty young (3&4), so the simplier the better. I was thinking about Just Dance. Do they have a mode where it is free play and they don't stop the music if they don't get the moves?

One game that will fit all three is Just Dance; it's fun, fits 4 players, even kids can play (just mimic the movements on screen), and you will definitely break a sweat.
Other fave fitness games: - Biggest Loser - EA Sports Active (1 or 2) - My Fitness Coach (1 only) - Walk It Out
Other fun games: - Mario Kart - New Super Mario Bros. Wii
The kids might like playing Walk It Out as well.

...I posted my Xbox 360 on Craigslist and traded it for a Wii. I had both a couple years back, but sold both due to financial difficulties. I ended up buying the 360 back, but as I get busier with work and my kids get older, thought it is time to change things.
So now, I'm enjoying playing more friendly and lighthearted casual games. Hopefully in a couple weeks I can pick up the Wii Fit. Does anyone else have any recomendations? I'm mostly interested in either fun games, games small kids can play, or games that will get me more active.
