I used to take herbal supplements. This time around I'm actually not taking any. I can't say I've identified any negative impact from avoiding them though.

as for the game industry, GameStop provides a valuable service. In this time of a tough economy the value of money, what is important and what it can buy, is becoming more pronounced. I think the sale of used games is just as valuable as the ability to rent games before you buy.

I don't know that GameStop has much to be concerned about. While they will suffer due to the economy (videogames are not a necessary, sorry lobo), they will be less hurt than new game sales. I'd rather buy used - but then again, I'm stocking up on PSX/PS2 and older games that you can't find anymore

I choose, I commit, I pursue, I adhere, I attain. And that, is an absolute.

very subtle way to change the topic, Lobo.

As for suppliments, I use a daily multi-vitamin, and have used protein powder and flax seeds (haven't recently, though...but I think I'll go add some flax seeds to my applesauce, now).

As for the games industry--maybe they just need to make better games--ones that people will want to keep to play again or to keep playing. It's fine if you put downloadable content on there so that you can add to what was originally on the disk--such as more levels, but to just hold back from what was originally there...no, not cool.

Got a good article here for discussion. It makes a good point. I have been hearing about gaming companies laying off people left and right and I can see why.

Take-Two Fires A Shot At GameStop
Posted by Raymond Padilla - Thursday, January 29, 2009 10:10 AM

Take-Two has launched the latest salvo in the war between game publishers and GameStop. I guess the publisher wasn't happy with the retailer's two-billion dollar year -- haters (kidding). In a recent interview with GamesIndustry.biz, company CEO Ben Feder said:

"GameStop continues to aggressively push their used game business, which is having a meaningful negative impact on sales of new games. Management is frustrated with this trend and is examining ways to ameliorate the problem, which includes strategies around online play and downloadable content which extend the lifespan of AAA titles."

As I mentioned last week, used-game sales have become such a hot-button issue that some publishers were talking about combating the GameStops of the world on a design level. While it might make sense to publishers, I believe that this way of thinking has the potential to taint games. Downloadable content (DLC) can be very cool, but I'd hate to see publishers hold back on things that could ship with a game, but are withheld for used-game sales considerations. I could easily see publishers ruining some excellent work by forcing developers to go heavy with online play and DLC.

Am I being paranoid? Do you think there is cause for concern? Can publishers put a wrench in the GameStop machine? Or is the retailer too powerful at the moment?

I'll take St. John's Wort when I'm really cranky before my period. I'm finding the more balanced I eat, the less cranky I get.
Otherwise I take a Centrum Multivitamin and a B-Complex Vitamin.
I am using a protein powder. I found out from tracking what I eat, that I'm not eating enough protein.

It's not the paths you choose, it's what you do with those chosen paths.
