thanks, thats a pretty good deal. I'd do it, but I guess I'll have to keep the PS2 since there aren't going to be any more backwards compatible ones. Booo :(

Hey Kelly if you're interested in getting any of the new systems...gamestop is running some kind of special right now...I just left there and they are doing this...if you trade in a playstation 2 either version and a memory card and controller with one more thing i forget then they will give you 100 bucks off the new system...I sent my playstation 2 to my 6yr old nephew...I think I want it back now..lol

We put all our old systems in the guest bedroom. My niece's favorite thing to play is the original Mario game on the super nintendo. That game has the most staying power of any other.

Wow money to blow. LOL. Wish I had deep pockets. lOL. JK. That is my assumption too. I mean it makes sense. Why would you make a next gen console to play last gen games. When I use to work at the game store I asked that same question to customers and they are like ummmm i dont know. I think they wanted to trade in their old system so that they can buy the new one. Im old fashion.

Sony's Head people decided that the backwards compatability cost way to much to incorporate into their ps3 system, and that if people really wanted to play some ps2 games, they could buy a ps2. This makes sense if you are trying to get a profit, however it eats up my ports on the back of my TV! I'm lucky I got my backwards compatable PS3 before they killed them.

I think I heard they aren't going to make any more that are backwards compatible. Anyone know if that's true?

Yeah that is pretty good. Sucks that it will not be backwards compatible. Where can I get a list of games that could be played on my 80GB Playstation. 499 is pretty good for a 160 GB system. PSP 3000 is nothing more than an upgrade of they old PSP to support more memory. They did not change the control scheme which I was hopping they would add some joysticks to resemble that of their PS2/3 controller. Two toggle would have been great.
