Yeah.. i thought the story overall was a bit humorous.. My oldest hasn't earned the privelage of her game cube back yet..as she can't seem to clean her room.. a visual for y'all imagine a typical teenage/college boy's room, perhaps after a party..and then wait a month to clean. No floor visable, trash..old food..etc spoiling in all mannor of places.. you begin to wonder if Jimmy Hoffa's body is in there. LOL! To her credit though, she'd cleaned most of it up before going away to her dad's this summer. But let me tell ya..when we lost our a/c for about 4 days in the 100 degree temps we had here back in june..OMG!! let's just say she doesn't get any privelages back until it's CLEAN, Organized, and kept that way for about a week.
That's just the tip of the iceburg with her room issues. She's really gonna hate me once she gets into middle school..lack of privacy and afterschool activites will be revoked unless rules are followed! hehee!!

sorry about the side tirade.. I blame Pregnancy Brain!!

lol, that made my day. So so funny. I've heard of parents selling the xbox or play station on ebay, but nothing like this. The descriptions on ebay are so funny too..."my kid played too much and despite warnings kept playing and failed a class", etc.

I can completely understand the reaction of the father...My kiddo is very addicted to games of any type and does abosolutely anything and everything to play them. He has currently been banned from any type of system for over a year now (console and handheld). We have just started trying to let him play for a little bit each day again over the last couple of weeks and he is only permitted to play with my DS lite. He is trying to find my PSP and I finally told him last night that if he doesn't quit trying to find it and play with it since he does not have permission to do so then he will loose them all again. We have discussed his addiction and compulsions over and over and he knows that everything will go away if he does not control them.
I have not destroyed systems but I have destroyed games for various systems and given systems away due to the problems we face with my nephew.

More guts than i would have had. sorry i can't see destroying expensive equipment..but if you've got the money..then i guess why not. There were other ways of dealing with the situation. but when you're at wits end..i guess whatever works.. it's a funny story overall..
