I think the age of the internet has killed waiting in long lines to go see a movie or order tickets for a concert. When the last Starwars movie came out and people camping out for days to get their tickets I was just fine of pushing click at home as soon as it came available and pre ordering it before the movie came out. LOL I guess not everyone can be smart enough to do that huh.

I use to work retail and I swore I would never get to the store early but I have.

We waited in line for some great deals at kohls.

As for the lack of Wii's I am surprised also. We want get one of them for arnies daughter but with no avail.

She will just have to wait.

One step at a time!

It is kind of hard to keep them in stop when you are not using them in some gyms, rehab clincis, old folk homes, and in the medical field. It is not the system for hardcore gamers but the system for all ages. Production has increased from what Nintendo stated but its not much of one to put on in the hands of everyone that wants them.

I am surprised there are still no Wii's on the shelves.

I will but only for a few things.
For non-game things, I've waited for a midnight release of Harry Potter (so I could read it as soon as I could)

The only gaming thing I've really waited for was a Wii. The story behind that one was funny because I thought it was just a perk and that I'd get one in a few weeks even if I didn't wait.
My original plan was to go to the store I used to work at and wait for about 8-9 hours for a midnight release. Then my boyfriend kept saying to leave later and later and we didn't get there till 5 or so and there was a moderate line. He whined a bit about waiting and he didn't want to wait that long (he's not prone to whining but hates waiting) and suggested we go to Target. Their line was shorter so we settled in. We soon found out that they were just selling them in the morning. The 13 hour wait was fine though. (it still makes me laugh when I think about it. It also happens with restaurants where we'll avoid a 15 minute wait, walk for 20 and then wait 30 somewhere else...)

Other than one drunk person who was holding a spot in line, things were calm. (I was a bit iffy when he eventually drove away but no one else seemed to care and I didn't have a phone to call the police)

I was so happy to get that and that I didn't need to track one down when they were hard to find.

I think the only time I camped out for a system was back when the first xbox came out. The only reason I camped out was because there was a possible chance that if I waited for it I was going to get one. I was not disspointed when I did wait till 1 am the day of the midnight release to get Halo and PGR. Since then I have not really waited for a game system. I have my reserve of GTA 4 at the game store and I am most certain to get a copy of it the next morning. I just will have a few hours of a disadvantage when I go online once I pick it up. The only other time I stood in line for a store to open was when I went and got my then 1 year old son's leap frog table for 50 bucks. Usually 100. That was on a black Friday at a Toy's R Us. My first time then and I was really scared of how people reacted once the doors opened.

Not for GTA IV. I'm having it delivered to my house so it should be there when I get home from work. I almost did for Brawl because of the tournament, but decided I didn't want to get shown up by a bunch of little kids.

If it is worth it, I would totally camp though. For instance, when a new Ikea opens up they give away a ton of stuff to the first few people in line.

I've gone early for Black Friday deals, but the last few Black Fridays have seemed kind of dull on the deal side. Regular sale prices most places.

I was reading on G4 that there are several people already camping out of the release of GTA 4. Come on is it really worth camping out to be the first one to get this game. Have you ever camped out before for a game, system, concert tickets, black Friday type deals? Tell us your story. I am just amazed that someone would camp out for a game that will probrably have a zillion copies of at walmart or best buy.
