The HSG is basically looking to see if your tubes are open and if there are any abnormalities. The SIS is a saline injection to see how your uterus looks and if there are any abnormalities there. Lots of people have these tests done with little or no real discomfort. The first HSG I had wasn't bad. It felt like mild cramps, that ended as soon as they finished. You might take 2 advil a half hour or so before the procedure if allowed. I had a surgery done, and since then have become much more "sensitive". The last one I had was much more uncomfortable for me. Is that what you were wondering? As far as the test themselves, they basically put you in the position of a pap smear...fun stuff! I was actually able to see on the monitor the dye injection as is passed through my tubes on one of my HSG's. They were albe tell me some while they did it, and then officially I followed up with results at the doctors office. If you look at the threads on here, you'll see more HSG chats if you want to read through them. I hope that is what you wanted to know?
