I found this, I just googled the question instead of guessing the answer, doh.
I dry my tomatoes in a dehydrator..love the flavor of the dried tomatoes.
I don't have any suggestions for you but I would like to say thanks for the link. I will have to try it with some of my tomatoes.
Good morning Sparkers!
Good news: Tomatoes are plentiful and all coming in at once, so I thought I'd share this link because it's hard to pluck them right off the roasting pan and freeze them for later :)
Bad news: my vine veggie harvest is stunted by ... something. The fruit/veggie start forming on the vine, they are very very tiny at this stage and suddenly they turn brown and rot. I lost countless gourds and most of my watermelons that way, I noticed a couple of winter squash as well yesterday. There are a lot of squash beetles (dotted or stripped yellow/black and a very few red/black but those hung out mostly on zucchini) they somehow get caught into the flower when it closes.
With the drought, keeping bugs off the only green patch in the area, namely my veggie garden, has been an uphill battle. Could it be it? Is there anything else I should consider?
