Oh, I love you guys! Gabby, you're absolutely right---CLC I can relate! For the record I found myself apologizing to my grapefruit tree when my little black cat used the pot for a litter box, telling it how sorry I was, that she poops in my house, too. P.S. I should add that I apologized to the chair for accidently kicking it one day.
Okay, 1st of all, I talk to EVERYTHING! lol. But, I figure that Jesus talked to a fig tree & told us to talk to mountains...so, seems like we are supposed to talk to everything! But, I have to laugh because last summer I was in my garden singing the "dr pepper" jingle to my pepper plants (you know...I'm a pepper, he's a pepper, she's a pepper, wouldn't you like to be a pepper to?) and look at my dog & said, "we had better go inside before one of the neighbors hears me singing to the plants & thinks I'm crazy", right then I looked over & sure enough, my neighbor was out & laughing hysterically!
Oh my gosh I was young when that book about talking to plants came out. And of course I read it and yes I do talk to my plants, sometimes. I have no idea how much it actually helps, but I do know that if I am talking to them and fondling them gently, I am also looking for pests and disease symptoms. I can catch them faster by really focusing on my plants, talking or not... but why not talk to them? It certainly can't hurt.

I will not wait to have a good day. I will make one.
