I love gardening and it is not just putting seeds in the ground. Fertilizing, tilling, putting up the fence to keep rabbits and deer out and water so fertilizer goes in the dirt. Then I will put the seeds and plants in that I have. A lot of work during the warm weather but I lover it and love to eat what I grow. Now I have only been gardening since 08 but I always had my flower gardens. Food gardening is a lot different but I am putting a lot of things that come up each years so I don't have to replant and that helps. Found 2 radishes when we did the tilling so I will eat them. Have fun and enjoy the food.
I am a very easy going gal that loves people and wants to know as many as I can. I want to make new friends so I can enjoy more of life. When people get to 55 or 60 there are some that think life should be over but guess what it is just beginning. Maybe 50 years ago it was over but not now people are living longer and working in their 70's. I would have been if I didn't have leukemia and it does not stop me but I have good days and bad, so being home if I need rest, I rest, at work I couldn't do
Gardening is WAY more than gardening! I have a fairly boring job, little stimulation. Coming home to my garden and seeing how my things are growing is so rejuvenating, such a big sense of accomplishment. And there's nothing like picking something fresh out of the garden to have for dinner, it just makes me feel like I do something really good and positive in my life.
What's the saying? 'The worst day in the garden is better than the best day at work!' Yeah!

I absolutely agree with you all. I go to my garden for peace. I go to my garden to work off frustrations - for food - for all kinds of nourishment. When the weather gets nice out - I just want to be out there. Hard to explain to a non-gardener.....
Healthy by choice, not by chance!

I agree. I felt so good Saturday when I finally planted some things. I know that here is SoCal I could have planted earlier, but the time change means I can water and putter after work. Makes a big difference.
I was just outside, looking around at my "old" garden area, I'm moving my garden to a bigger area of my yard. I've been in kinda a funky mood the past week, with talks of my favorite QB maybe getting messed over, the anniversary of my step-dad's death, ect. Anyway, while looking around, I noticed that there were some green carrot tops! So, I went over and...plucked up a carrot!! okay, it made a "baby carrot" look huge, but the more I dug, the more I saw CARROTS!! It was like God & my garden reminding me, no matter how grey the winter is...there is ALWAYS spring & summer! And gardening! Another note, last year, when I got fired, guess where I hung out...my garden. Guess who I recommited my life to in my garden...God!! Gardening is WAY more than just growing food!
