I don't get any magazines, but I would not be at all unhappy if someone got me a subscription to Herb Companion for Christmas! I also like Southern Living, Taste of Home, Mother Earth News and several of the craft magazines. When my kids were younger, I loved Family Fun. I like Better Homes and Gardens' website better than their magazine.

I love reading magazines, I subscribe to some but I buy a lot too. I like InStyle, Essence, Heart & Soul, Shape, Black Enterprise, Redbook, Womans World, Health, Martha Stewart, Kraft Food Magazine (great recipes) Ok I guess I read them all, but I'm not a big fan of Oprah's magazine & I hate that cause I love her.

I unfortunately get Redbook, which is a waste of space in my mailbox. I've canceled my subscription, but they keep sending it!

I work out at home. I don't have a car. I do belong to a gym though. Just don't want to spend a lot on the buses.

This is sad. I can't even tell you the last time I actually got to watch TV, but if I did I would watch.

1) House
2) Bones
3) Biggest Loser (I actually got to see 5 minutes of this last night LOL)

I work out at home or a local park. Besides never having anyone to watch the children nor having time or money to go to a gym, I also discovered how much energy is being wasted by all those lights and equipment that could be saved if people would use their sidewalks, parks, etc.

By staying home/park, I can exercise with the kids around and set a good example plus not waste gas, time, or money going to a gym :-)

strength training, don't think i do enough or right or something. somebody told me to add weights to my exercise to help get pound off faster, so does that mean i should lift weights, or wear weights around my ankle/wrists. maybe it's time to see a trainer? i wanted to wait until i lost 50# or hit a platue, but maybe i shouldn't. i don't know.

It is tiny changes I am noticing, and that is when something is happening. Like speed and agility to get our dog off our neighbors before killing it, or balance and strength when I had to slide through the bathroom and rescue my kid from his own 'Mr.Bubbles' pink slippery pool on the floor. There is more endurance when carrying stuff, and I am gaining back flexiblity.

Probably in my hips, where I need to lose the least of course!! emoticon I want to lose in my stomach and thighs, but not much change there. I do feel stronger tho.

Defintely my waist but I just had a baby 6 months ago. I have pretty much lost inches all over pretty consistently. I carry my weight in my stomach so I am glad to see this finally shrinking!

We will be taking it easy and hoping hurricane Gustav does not focus on the Sugar Land/Houston area. My sister called me tonight and told us we are in the "probability" cone and dirty side of the storm. Sigh....I was born in a desert area, lived most of my life in a desert, and this just creeps me out.

We don't have it and I wish we did, just for the Wii Fit. I heard that Playstation had a game out called Personal Trainer or something like that so when we got PS3 I went looking for it and apparently they don't make it anymore. Figures....

My kids had the Wii for awhile (from grandparents), and I didn't really care about it....until I found out about Wii Fit. I bought it on July 4th, and it has been essential for my motivation to at least exercise a minimum every day. I like it all, and during the summer I required my kid to do at least 30 minutes a day...which they did. I love how it "shows" you if you are doing a strength or yoga pose wrong, and I also like the balance and aerobic "fun" stuff. I wish there were more things out like Wii Fit.

My kids do both. At our school, you have to pre-order lunches a month at a time, so I don't have to worry about them buying anything on an account. The lunches aren't the greatest usually but I figure as long as they are eating healthy at the other meals, it's ok for them to get hot lunch with their friends.

I used to make lunches a lot when the kids were in elementary, but I just can't seem to get it together like then. DD is better about making lunches, but I found out she needed a little more guidance....too many starches/carbs. DS likes to buy (high school food), so I just try to get him to make lunches once a week or so. I would prefer them to make their lunches.

8-22-08 My daughter stared 5th grade on the 21st.

8-23-08 I get up at 5 and walk at least 1 mile every morning. My goal is to always have 3 miles done by the end of the day. (I make my daughter go with me on these early morning walks)

8-26-08 She takes her lunch as do I. Our school lunches are high in fat and sugar. It is absolutely ridiculous. I let her buy maybe twice a month. We are making healthier versions of what she loves at school at home.

I had the same problem but with breakfast. She was eating breakfast at home and then buying it again at school. (I called the principal when my bill was almost $20 over what it should have been this was 2 years ago) I put a block on her account and most schools will let you. She cannot buy without a note from me.

I know, I know I am a mean, mean mom! emoticon

My son eats school lunches. I wish he didn't they don't serve very healthy options. But letting him eat the school lunch is bettert than when he was eating both the lunch I packed and the school lunch. The school would let him run up a bill ordering lunches even though I hadn't sent money in.

8/22 started on the 20th

8/23 i am kind of redundent, i always take a morning walk, when i get to the gym it's the elipictical and or bike. i'm just trying to get regular, then i'll worry about spicing it up

Keep on keeping on!
