For sunscreen... if you don't mind spending a little more (just for face) I use Algenist spf 50 daily moisture fluid. You have moisturizer and sunscreen in one. I use regular coppertone baby waterproof sunscreen for anything below my neck. I find that my palate is so sensitive that certain smells, sunscreens and sunblocks included, can cause coughing spasms.

I am trying 2 new night creams, Peter Thomas Roth's Camu Camu vitamin C cream and Kate Sommerville's Retinol night treatment... Since I've opened the Camu Camu already, I can tell you, I've been using it for 2 months... half a pump will fo for face and neck because it's very rich and it's done wonders for the overall texture of my skin, which ism't lined or wrinkled, but has dry and oily patches that can tend to make one look a bit older...

I also tried a Dior Addict lipstick in a shade of red called red carpet, I am loving this red. I usually go with a bare face, mascara and some lip product so a red lip can really add punch to my look (plus, I've got a great mouth).

My third pick is the Aveeno face wipes from the drugstore. I like to clean my face before and after my workouts and this saves me a pointless trip to and from the locker room, plus the liquid on them is plant based and hypoallergenic, so you can't really go wrong.

I tend to not wear much on my face. I get confused when applying things like foundation. I never feel like I get it even or something. But I am big on applying a sunscreen lotion for my face in the morning. Its just lotion so I can't mess it up. I was using nutragena but then I found this other stuff I like now.
Its OLAY Fresh Effects and Its called Soak up the sun protection. Its lightweight and hasn't made me break out. It smells ok too, its supposed to have honeysucked and white tea in it. Its only SPF 15 which is low I guess. I've used some SPF 30 and 40 from other products. I just like the consistency of this stuff and I am toward the end of the tube but will buy more.
I also have the OLAY Fresh Effects face scrub that smells like pear and maybe apple? I can't remember the name of that but I really like it.
I also like the Simple products for sensitive skin. I am not sure if I have sensitive skin, but I like their facial scrub with rice granules. Sometimes I use that at night and its supposed to have no dye or perfumes ect. I was using one of their SPF lotions in the morning, before I got the Olay but I can't find where to buy that anymore. I keep some Simple cleansing wipes in my desk at work too. They are nice and if I get something messy for lunch I can always wipe my face off so it doesn't get oily.
My face routine in the morning is usually wash, lotion, eyeshadow, and chap stick. I love chapsticks...all flavors. Its fun to mix it up each season. Avon has good ones. I like the consistency of Avon chapsticks compared to some of the ones I got at Walmart. The flavors are all good, just something about the consistency that makes me grab my Avon ones more often.
I have been using Avon eyeshadow palletes my mom got me for Chrismas. She got me 3 but I've just been using 1 so far. I figure once I get bored of one I will switch. I don't use much other make up to compare, but I always end up with eyeshadow that...gets "absorbed" or "dispears" by the end of the day? Avon does some times though I have a Mark green firefly color I used to use that stayed all day. Some stuff I got at Walmart seemed to do it too. I think it could be dry skin or something in my body but I don't know if its just the product.
Thats all I have to share since I don't use alot of product stuff...

I've been using Garnier - Skin Renew Dark Spot Treatment and Dark Spot Overnight Peel for about 6 months. It works better then any other OTC product I've tried. Have fair skin with several dark spots: which are now about 70% lighter. Has not irritated my skin.

Never tried it, but have reached a point where think want to start trying to even skin tone, have a nice mole? brown spot on my cheek would like to be rid of (without having dermatologist slice it off).....an overnight cream to rejuvenate skin would be nice too, but usually expensive!

just recently bought "egg" chapstick with some sparkly pink lip sheer to go over it AND some falsies mascara.....makes my eyelids feel heavy, even without eyeshadow. working on "glamming up" for highschool reunion in a few months.

Mary Kay has a new translucent powder that I've started using. I'm not one for makeup, so I love that it's translucent. I wear it mostly to help control shine, since I have oily skin and it works great!

Recently I have become a Mallynista (user of Mally Beauty products) and I am trying to determine which foundation, preferably powder, I should go with. Any suggestions? I am currently using Bare Minerals but I love the fact that Mally's products are true to their word...they "do not come off until you take them off." With the summer coming up, I want a powder foundation that will stay on since I am going to a few concerts and I don't want streaks down my face. We have all been there! :)

My son had the same issues and started using a 3 step system called "Clear Now" His face is clearing up and he does not have any scarring. They also have a supplement that he takes 2x a day to go with the 3 step system. You can only get online, we purchased at www.runnerssportsnutrition.com

Good luck. We tried alot of things before we found this and it really has made a difference.

INSPIRELINGE, I second what you have to say about Olay Moisturizer with sunscreen. I am 37 but have no wrinkles. I was at dinner a couple of nights ago with a group of people who were mostly in their 20s and they couldn't believe that I was ten years older than the rest of them.

Another recent purchase (though not a new product I don't think) that I have enjoyed is a set of basic makeup brushes. I bought an EcoTools set that has six or seven brushes. They make a huge difference and they were not very expensive. I especially like having a mascara brush.

Beauty Balm. It is supposed to replace primer, cover-up, moisturizer and foundation.

It goes on white, but as you rub it in, it adjusts to your skin color. It's nice and light.

There are lots of different brands out there. A friend of mine bought like ten different kinds (low and high end) and tried them all out. Apparently the L'Oreal Magic BB balm is the best AND the cheapest, so that is the one I've been playing with.

I've never really worn much makeup and haven't ever been able to master foundation. It always felt wrong/bad on my skin and it was impossible to find a good color match. I did not grow up using makeup, my mother never wore makeup and I just never quite knew what to do with it.

However, I have recently discovered L'Oreal BB Cream and it works so well for me! I recently used it for a special occasion and it looked amazing! It's very reasonably priced and leaves my skin feeling great after I take it off. I have some minor pigmentation issues due to a medical problem, and it is nice to be able to cover them up a little.

i used and loved Wen when it first came out...then as i ran out, i just started washing my hair with a different (and more easily accessible) salon quality conditioner. same results, lower cost, less hassle!

Hi Palm, this looks like a nice quad for smokey eyes:

They have different color sets too, and tell you exactly how to use each powder color.

Hey Palm, Avon has a eye shadow kit where you can pick your own smokey eye colors, 2 or 4 color kits. I love being able to pick my own shades. Other than that, I don't know of many eye shadow kits for smokey eyes.

Here is a tutorial from Maybelline which may help: www.maybelline.com/makeup-looks/Nigh

For those of us with acne issues or kids with acne issues:

My dermatologist put me on Benzoyl Peroxide 10% for my "backne"-back acne! It works pretty well. She says that it is the only thing that truly fights the bacteria that causes acne. I got the "Oxy" brand at Amazon.com (6 bottles) of it for the same price it cost to get it covered through my insurance to get one little dried out bottle.

She says salicylic acid only irritates the skin, and doesn't help, even though you find it in practically every single product out there.

I picked up a sensationail kit for gel nails at home. The shine is amazing and the nails don't chip for about two weeks. It can be difficult to remove, you have to soak your nails in acetone for 20 min and scape the polish off.

love love LOVE Mally Beauty esp the Evercolor Shadow Stick. I have it in taupe. AWESOME is an understatement! I wore it at a concert, it didn't come off. I have been wearing it all summer, in the sun, it doesn't come off! I also have her mascara and concealer, they are awesome too! I have been trying to find a concealer that stays on, doesn't flake and actually HIDES my dark circles and her products work! You can buy her products at Henri Bendel and another place in NYC or you can scoop them up at QVC (which is what I did). Happy Shopping!

My son also had a bad case of acne - and Aveno oatmeal soap did work. It didn't completely clear up the acne, but it was a lot easier on his skin than some of the other acne products, so he didn't have to use as much of them.

I'm a big fan of Oil of Olay!! Affordable and it's a classic (because it works!). I'm nearly 31 and people still think I'm 24/25....I also think the clean eating and exercise contributes to that. Gotta do both!

Yesterday an older lady came up to me and suggested Aveeno's oatmeal soap for my teenager's acne. I've heard of oatmeal for various things. Has anyone tried it for acne? The poor boy has it BAD! I'm glad I'm not a teenager anymore!

I recently tried Clinique's, Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector. I really like it...I have 3 distinct dark spots (age spots) on my face that have lightened in the month that I have been using it twice a day faithfully. I do have freckles and I think that they have lightened also, although it says that it doesn't lighten freckles. A bit expensive, but I think it works.

Hello all,
Joined this group months ago, didn't make time until now to read any of the messages. Sorry! I love my Enfuselle skin care. Especially the Night Time C+E, makes my skin feel all silky!

I saw someone mentioned age spots. I have heard some great testimonies on Vivix. You take a teaspoon a day to keep Father Time away!

The Loreal Everpure can be found at Walmart, Target and even supermarkets,,, like Ralphs/Vons/Safeway/Alberston/Stater Bros. It is a very good product just made my hair "heavy" LOL

I tried to find Loreal Everpure but I still couldn't find it here. I wonder if maybe it can't be found in grocery or department store's Loreal counter but at only saloon.

LILYPAD12311, I once tried Loreal Kerastase Oleo-Curl shampoo and the treatment and my hair started to curl, the kind of bouncy curl, like I used to when I was a kid (now my hair is kinda wavy or limp of too heavy weight, haha). Dunno if this only works for people who have natural wavy or curly hair. Maybe you can try this but it's a bit pricey compare to normal shampoos and it was suggested by my hair dresser.

I dye my hair red and have slent years looking for a good shampoo/conditioner that will prevent my color from fading to brown in a month. For the last 6 months I've been using the Loreal Everpure line and my color does not fade! It's sulfate free, legitimately, and thats awesome. Some of the shampoos I've looked at have said sulfate free but if you look at the ingredients they contain sulfates.

Not "new" but new to me: Purchased MAC Aqua e/s (Pro store only, matte finish) and it looks amazing with MAC Aquadisiac. It's a true aqua and you don't have to pack a ton on for it to show up (disclaimer: I always use a primer).

While looking for a cheaper alternative to Urban Decay Primer Potion, I came across the NYX HD eye shadow primer at Ulta. It's nice, dries clear. It is packaged in a tube with a sponge applicator. I've found that I've had the greatest success putting on a small dab and working it around my eye; if I put too much on, the primer doesn't work as well. It's not quite on par with UDPP, but it's probably the best drugstore shadow primer I've found (and I've tried them all).

I received my NEWBEAUTY testube in the mail awhile back. My favorite product in it was the Glymed Intense Peptide Skin Recovery Complex Cream. It goes way beyond an AHA cream and it's super light which I like.

Also a few people have mentioned needing some products to help remove pigmentation spots(aka hyperpigmentation) My favorite is Skinceuticals Phyto+, it's a little pricey but well worth it. I use it in conjunction with the skinceuticals .5 retinol and have recommended it to many clients with fabulous success. I should point out that you can find products that have hydroquinone in them that will work quicker and you can get prescription products like Triluma(hydroquinone, retinol, and hydrocortisone) but I'm opposed to hydroquinone because of the damage it can do to the body long term.

Have you tried the Olay Microdermabrasion kit? It works wonders on my skin. And it smells really nice! It makes my skin super-smooth and I can tell a difference.

Also, the best product I've ever bought for skin is the Boots No. 7 Protect & Perfect Beauty Serum. They sell it online or at Target. It's like getting a mini-facial every single day. They have a more intense version as well. Oprah did this big thing about it saying many of her friends stopped getting peels/botox after they started using it.

I have fine hair also and use "It's a 10" product...you will have to experiment with the correct dosage (dependent upon your hair length). My hairdresser recommended. Makes your hair shiny and very smooth, glossy..feels wonderful.

Try ULTA.com, or in various hair salons..or try EBAY...

good luck!

I was listening to a converstaion with a dancer that does facial type things. like peels and stuff like that. She said the only way to really get those bigger spots is to do a lazer treatment.

Do any of you know of any skin creams that ACTUALLY really work on skin pigmentation? I am just starting to see my freckles blend together to form brown spots on my face - it looks just awful. I spent my youth in Ariz tanning on aluminum foil w/baby oil (that was the thing to do back then, ha!) -- and now my skin is starting to show it --- any suggestions?

I purchased the MIA sonic face brush from QVC (also sold at Sephora) as a Xmas gift to myself; very pricey but after using for 2 months, I can see a considerable difference in the overall condition of my skin PLUS my foundation goes on so much smoother. Love this product. You should know the circular brushes should be replaced every 3 months (also sold at SEPHORA in most JC Penney stores). Package normally has 2 brushes per package. Check out Amazon too.

I love Moroccan oil line. does wonders for chemically processed hair. Not really a 'new' product though. I am a huge fan of lancome-ive heard gentifique is amazing; havent been able to motivate myself to spend 80 dollars on it; in another 10 years? for sure :)

Makeupalley.com is a great website for reviews on all sorts of beauty products. I absolutely love that site. It's completely free as well. emoticon

I tried Himalaya Protein Shampoo Gentle Daily Care for daily use. The smell is nice (love the smell!) but still need conditioner or hair will left "rough". Not sure if we can conditioner hair daily so in the end, I shampoo my hair every other day as my scalp is easily get sweaty and as my hair is quite thick, it's a no-no to not wash my hair properly!

Love the Urban Decay Setting Spray..after a full face of make up for a night out spritz 1 or 2 pumps of this on your face and your face is perfect still hours later.

Edge Control Olive Oil by organic root - my hair is thick and coarse so i have lots of small hairs when I want to put back in a ponytail or tie back..rub some of that in your hands and then on your annoying baby hairs or fly aways..to keep them smooth and it works wonders so your hair looks neater...

I don't know about the Sally Hansen gel nail polish but I tried the Nutra Nail Gel Perfect product and it wasn't worth the $11 or the time involved. I tried to follow all the directions but the polish starting chipping the next day, crazed in 3 days (which made it chip a lot more) and then took 2 minutes of soaking plus a lot of rubbing to remove.

Don't bother.

I have a Clarisonic Plus. Really like mine. My face is smoother and has reduced my pore size. Face feels cleaner. I believe my skin care products actually work better. I usually only use it once a day. If I use it more than once a day, it tends to dry out my skin.

I just got to try Laura Mercier 's tinted moisture and it looks and feels awesome on your face! The only downfall is it costs $42.00 ,but, I think it is worth it by the way your face looks after putting it on!!

Don't think I have tried anything new lately but have several regulars I use every day. Nars blushes are perfect. I like Nars orgasm but prefer the deep throat color. Also use Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer. Last a long time for a tinted moisturizer and makes your skin look healthy not like a mask. I think I may try Mary Kay's luminizing foundation next. Used a sample and really liked it.

Has anyone tried the New Sally Hanson nail polish that's supposed to last for 2 week? (It has to be taken off with a special remover like shellac but doesn't need the special light)

Has anyone tried the new L'oreal Professional Secrets One Sweep Eye Shadow? I want to know if it looks as good as they show in pictures or if there was more work involved with the models. Thanks!
