This week I made more good food choices than last wk.
I actually exercised some of the days this week at least sporadically as oppossed to next to not at all the week before. I started using visualization to picture & Feel my RESULTS for making good choices & to picture & feel my consequences if tempted to make poor ones.

This friday morning I weighed in to find I lost
3 LBS this week compared to only 1 the wk before.
I am at 222 this morning.

I feel encouraged to make even MORE good food choices over poor ones for this upcoming week now and to work on making my exercise even more consistent. RESULTS are so motivating. : )

Oooo, tell me about Zumba after you've tried it. I've heard about it but haven't splurged yet.

My win is that after being a bit sloppy with eating for a few days, I was back 100% on track yesterday. Periodically I have to say no eating after 7 p.m. and I'm back with it.

Yesterday was a 100% win. I completed my 35 minute run/walk which was perfect, got in 45 minutes of lower body strength training, and interviewed for the job that I want so badly...I really went for it in this interview. I'm keeping my fingers crossed to see what happens.

I can breathe. Yeah. I am battling asthma/allergies for the past 6 months and it has changed my life literally. I am in the process of getting well spiritually and mentally first and my body will follow. I gave in and complained and whined and was in fear, NO MORE. I was not feeling better thinking of how sick I felt. I feel terrific. Rhonda

I had a couple of wins...my weigh-in on Monday showed a weekly grand total loss of...0.3 of a pound!!! emoticon Be still my beating heart...all that work and 0.3(I'm thinking of writing an Ode to it...) but, on the first of Nov. I did my monthly measure and (Insert happy dance)lost 2 inches off my waist and 1 1/2 off my butt! emoticon Wooo Hooo!!

Second "win" and probably more important...my husband that was the cause of my enforced race to work last night...survived my IRE!! He stayed far...far away, until I cooooooled down...smart man! emoticon I was a trifle frosty...

It is November 1st!

This month, I turn 34 and WILL be in as good of shape OR BETTER than I was almost 10 years ago!!! I have just a few more pounds to go, and much better muscle definition... This will be a GREAT month!!!!

I owe it to myself, and I owe it to my better half for his 30th Birthday (which is on Thanksgiving!)

Lets go November!!!!

( I guess my win today is starting a new month with a positive outlook!)

I am the ultimate procrastinator...I procrastinate on everything - good and bad. But today a win for me is that I did multiple things that I have been procrastinating to do!

A second win is that I took control of my job search and made something - which has yet to prove an outcome but still was something - happen. I can't wait to see how it turns out. emoticon

Oh, I've always got other goals!!! I may get down to 145, that way when I float up...I won't be back in those 150's! LOL My husband doesn't want me to lose much more. Anything less than 145 is too thin for my build!

Congratulations to everybody for their wins -

Lisa, that's great! Your reached your goal :) Are you going to make a new one or relish in your accomplishments for awhile?

My success for the day yesterday (10/29) was to get in both my strength training AND my cardio, for a total of over 1 1/2 hrs of exercise. Also, I ate my meals perfectly morning and afternoon. Things did fall apart for me yesterday afternoon, but I'm working on that.

Welcome Symmetry!

Jamie - It took almost all summer for the scale to budge for me! I think our bodies change things inside sometimes that are not reflected on the scale, and then suddenly, boom - it clicks and changes. (I'm sure there is a better way to say what I am trying to communicate, but I hope you get my "drift!" HAHA

Goodnite2 - Congrats! Thats awesome!!!!

Lisa - today we took the dogs and kids to the park (a 3 mile trail) and there was a walk a thon in memory of local teenagers killed in car crashes. I think you are smart to make your kids wait. My son and I talked a lot about those deaths as we finished up our walk and saw the photos of the deceased teens... Its was a great way for us to have yet another converstation about the pros and cons of driving. He's only 12 now, but in just a few short years he'll be on the roads, too!

We can never be too cautious! Buckle up and be careful!

I am proud of me for facing my FEAR, self consciousness, disappointment and embarrassment and getting on the scale even though it was to reveal my ALL TIME HIGHEST weight EVER at 226!
I acknowledged it and accepted it (like I have much choice haha) and shared it with U here because the TRUTH is the 1st step in stepping FORWARD towards the truth I want.

Congrats, Lisa! I've been really frustrated the last 3 weeks because I've been at the same weight even though I'm busting butt! With just a pound or two to go it seems like the scale is just purposely being obstinate!

Make it a great day!

Hi Jami...yes our kids are close in age. My son graduated last June and my daughter is a senior.

We actually do no let our kids get their permits until they are 17. My son waited longer. Het turned 18 in May and never got around to getting his permit until July. He wasn't in a big hurry...and I'm glad. There are so many idiots on the road! LOL

Recalibrated my calorie deficit, which changed my calories allowed, which had the net result of leaving me hungry before bed and hungry when I awoke. BUT - I did not eat anything extra. (That's my "win".)
I want to try this for a week, and see if I get used to it.

Chinese food is my absolute fave, but there is so much sodium that I would end up playing this little game: I'll have it on my weigh-in day, so I can spend the week working it off.
I suspect I'm better off not playing that game just now (chuckle).

I managed to put some of my Chinese food in a to go box as soon as it was brought out to the table last night, so even with our girls night out, I managed to stay within my calorie, etc ranges!

I was down this morning - water weight gone!

I got some new workout pants, size 16/18 - I am so impressed with myself!

I got my 10/1 photos of myself back (I am scrapping them); you actually CAN tell I've been losing!

Tonight is dinner with the girls... I have had 600 calories so far today, so I am in good standing for tonight - good thing too, since we are going to a new "fusion" restaurant where they serve Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Sushi, etc....

Congrats on the 24 Jamie - thats awesome!

2-3 MINUTES??? That is so much shorter than I imagined, but it probably feels like it's longer?

The pics are great! It's funny to see the skin on your arm being forced back, lol.

Oh it's so much easier than you'd think. I mean, as you can see, I'm strapped to a professional! All I gotta do is hold a certain position; he does all the hard stuff.

As for the calories burned, SP clocks my 2-3 minute fall at 8.8 calories exerted.

Wow! I can never see myself doing that! I bet it was a real rush though. So, how many cals do you think you burned cuz if it was me my heart would have been racing for hours before and after!

I'm going to be paying for today for awhile. I usually run 3 miles - today I ran 6. And then I did 40 minutes of ST. My legs hurt!

I also went to a party tonight and still managed to be 300 cals under my 1700 alotment for today. That means I get to transfer some of those over to tomorrow.

Being important is nice, but being nice is more important.

Did a major tidy-up of my kitchen and prepared a bunch of food ahead, so I won't be caught unprepared.
Now I'm off to do my 2 mile WATP.

Today was a really tough day - PMS munchies! My win though is that I only will be over 50 cals for the day (1350), burned 750 on the treadmill and met my totals for the week. Any other PMS week and I would've been waaayyyy over.

My biggest win for yesterday? They are all still alive ~ I nearly killed 'em, just for breathing oxygen.

Hubby had emergency laser eye surgery in the am.

We'd found a stray cat around midnight the night before, so we were trying to find a rescue to take her; no such luck. So we had to find a vet to see her (today, 2:30, our regular vet), in case we cannot find her a home and have to keep her.

I lost my temper with people, but did get right quickly. I realized that I was getting angry because I wasn't stuffing my feelings with food. That is a huge win.

Some days it just doesn't pay to gnaw through the restraints.

One of my rear blinker/stop light bulbs went out today while I was doing my shopping. I had to go to two auto stores to find the correct bulb, and then take apart half the trunk to get to the bulb, but I got it changed. Yes!!!

Congrats ladies!

Today I cleaned the whole house and did all of the laundry (have I mentioned I hate Thursdays?!). I also did 40 minutes of jump rope on the trampoline (440 cals burned), 30 minutes of ST, and 10 minutes of ab challenge.

Being important is nice, but being nice is more important.

I love it Lisa! Congrats on loosing your clothes! HAHA

I can tell that my weight isn't moving as much, but I am rearranging what the weight means. I am gaining muscle from the strength training and seeing changes in how my clothes fit, too!

Doesn't it feel great!!!!

Mornin All!

Its about 8:37am here in sunny Atlanta and my win for the day is that I woke up! I'm not taking for granted that I'm the same person I was yesterday w/the opportunity for improvement today. I did meditation and am about to do yoga. I'll follow my SP diet and go to mother/daughter aerobics at my daughter's school.

So, in summation my win for today is that I HAVE another day.

Two pounds away from goal now! But, I'm actually more excited about a proud momma moment I'd like to post - My daughter just received her ACT score; a 28! Just in time for those college apps due in about 2 weeks!

Good thing I had a great workout today because it looks like we're celebrating with dessert emoticon

Jami, I'll have to try that (as long as the family doesn't see the pumpkin before the cake is tasted! haha)

What great wins we have going on!

Today, I stopped by my better-half's cousins (got that??? cousin in law???) office at lunch and surprised her with a basket of goodies (handmade baby blanket, etc.) for her baby to be (she just found out its a boy!) We bought the basket at a festival over the weekend, and I couldn't wait to give it to her! Needless to say, she was surprised to see me walk in bearing gifts!

Have a great afternoon!

Hi all,
I am sorry. I forgot to post my wins since the challenge began. Congrats to all on your wins.
I was off track the last couple of days. I have been out of town for work. I worked an exhibit booth at a nursery show. One of the other exhibitors gave me all of the trees he brought to the show. My DH wasn't to happy because he has a bunch of holes to dig. But I was thrilled. Got back on track with my workouts and walking today. I hope you all have a great day tomorrow.

Yesterday, stayed in calories while eating out with friends and dessert back here (yummy, see below!), got in 25 min on the treadmill to burn 325 cals, did ST for 20 min, 5 min ab challenge, and 15 min of T-Tapp. AND, wore a size 4 pants out last night and a different pair of 4's to church today emoticon and they were actually comfortable! emoticon

Today, I meet all of my goals, including making it a day of rest emoticon

Dessert Recipe - Sinless Chocolate Raspberry Cake (even my kids liked it and asked for more!)
one Devil's Food cake mix (mix only)
one can pumpkin
3-4 pints of raspberries
light whipped topping from a can
Hershey's canned syrup

Mix first two ingredients with mixer and spread in one prepared 8" or 9" pan. Place in 350 degree oven for 20-25 minutes, or until knife comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes and remove from pan onto wire rack. Cool completely.

Using hands, divide cake into quarters. Tear large bite-sized pieces from one quarter of the cake and place in trifle bowl. Add a layer of raspberries. Repeat, using all of the cake and raspberries in quarters. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

When ready to serve, spoon cake/raspberry mix into serving bowls. Top with whipped topping and drizzle lightly with chocolate sauce. Refrigerate leftovers.

I got about 16 ample-size servings out of the recipe. The pumpkin adds nutrients without fat, and excess calories. You cannot taste the pumpkin flavor in the cake - only the chocolate. It totals somewhere around 175-200 cals depending on how heavy-handed you are with the topping.

Being important is nice, but being nice is more important.

Wins for yesterday - I took a 30 minute aerobic walk, stayed within my calorie range and drank according to my thirst.

First win for today: I weighed 274.6 this morning. My goal was 275 by 10/15, so I have met a goal!!

Second win: I took care of my own needs, before those of my family, meaning: I made the breakfast I needed, before I worried about feeding them (my kids are 17/20/25 - I knew they wouldn't starve).

Third win: I found some Victoria's Secret catalog pictures to use in my weight-loss collage.

Jami, I believe that figuring everything out - and WRITING IT DOWN - will be the most beneficial. If I do it once, and put it in my tracker, I NEVER have to do it again!!

Have a great day you guys!!
