I don't know how much I can help except to say that I'm there for you and with you. We seem to have this incredible ability to undermine our own success. One thing I'll suggest is looking down at th quote in your signature....you move a mountain by starting with the small stones. (I also happen to LOVE Auntie Mame and that quote is one of my most favorites!!) I wonder if we're all a little like Agnes and try to hide behind baggy clothes and horn-rimmed glasses so that we don't have to be held accoutnable for "LIVING".
For me it's adding movement. I've worked really hard to add at least 30 minutes of cardio every day and when the scale doesn't go down I just shrug and say something like, "oh well, I must be putting on some muscle" and I go grab a handful of CHIPS! Well, shioot, duh, no wonder the numbers aren't going down, girl, get your hand outta your mouth!
So, WE (you and I) have to recognize that we're not doing the RIGHT thing and then DO the right thing. I'm in. How about you?
I'm not asking to lose 25 pounds in a month, like the ads are saying. I just want it to keep going down every week so I "see" some results. So I have to make some really hard-core, in-my-face changes and stick to them. This weight didn't go on in a month, it's not gonna come off that way either. You've made a really courageous choice to say out loud that you're having trouble. That's great. Now what are we gonna do? Just keep sticking to the plan, reading the articles, following the ideas they have for plateaus and stuff, get moving even more, AND MAKE BETTER CHOICES.
I really am there for you if you want to keep in touch and try some online accountability. I just read your SparkPage and you need to go back there and read that again too. You have some really, really good motivational words there too. You knew this was gonna be tough, now toughen up and stick with it. It means a lot to you and you can do it. Look at your mind-body connection ideas. You obviously believe that there's a strong tie between what your mind thinks and how it affects your body. So, look at the "whys". I'm talking soul-searching. You can do that too. You can beat this hold that food has and the things you do to sabotage yourself. I really believe in you, looking at the words you've written to us and to yourself.
