I want to start, complete, and finish my college classes (this takes about 2yrs) and I'm just starting in 3 weeks. I rarely finish anything due to all sorts of reasons. In the end I will have marketable skill and a sense of accomplishment, along with my Own spending money!

I made it happen and walked at the local fair for a few hours!
I need to be able to compartmentalize my problems. I need to visual putting each problem into a box, and only open that box when I am able to affect the problem; and keep the box shut the rest of the time so that I can enjoy and deal with the rest of life.

I am working on my sleep issues this week. I am aiming for 8 hours a night, going to bed by at least 2 am and going back to bed after taking Brian to work at 8 til 10 or 10:30. I will be happy if I manage to start getting 5 to 7 hours this week!
I am reigniting my Spark and loving it! I feel so much better about myself. This week I am increasing my Strength training to 30 minutes. Still working on the Spark and am now back in Stage 2. Sometimes the best thing is to go back to the start! So what I plan to make happen on purpose is to get my Spark up and going good then work more on other issues! 1 step at a time!
What I want to make happen on purpose is to reignite my Spark and to do this my first step has been to go back to the beginning and start with Step 1 again!

Thanks for feedback. I think a gratitude journal is a good idea. I have a lot to be thankful for.

I hear you....NRLB
I too have asked myself that question... over and over again... Why me why this why now... and so on with the questioning myself....
I would like to offer you some options / suggestions... through sharing what worked for me...
first I started Writing in a gratitude journal.... first thing in the morning before everyone else was up.... I gave myself the first 5 min. of the day.... they were MINE... to do with as I pleased....caring for me... Because I read some where (which made me start to cry, so I knew it applied to me) I read
that we need to take care of ourself FIRST... because when we do we have more to give the ones we love.... and when we dont they are NOT getting our best....
after reading this I really committed to changing how I looked and took care of me... this journey now I am speaking of started back in 1993.... and I figure will continue till the end of my days...
I am MAKING ME WHOLE and HEALTHY on PURPOSE....
WHOLE = Spirit/Heart/Mind/Body
SPIRITUALly EMOTIONALly MENTALly PHYSICALly
(I have worked real hard over the years on the first 3 and realized last year that I wasnt doing my best when it came to my body, so I am working on that now along with continued maintainance of all the rest of me...)

I think not knowing what I want is part of my whole dang problem. My, "if I had this" list is really full of meaningless stuff. I'm also a notorious procrastinator & rarely finish what I start.
Here's what I know. I love my family. I want to take care of them. I want them to be happy, healthy, & safe.
I sold my self short a long time ago for something that was totally my fault and I've never quite forgiven myself for. The last 3-4 years have been about repaying that debt/trying to forgive myself (clearly not working cause I'm crying as I type this)
I'm afraid. Afraid of not being everything I can/should be. Afraid of wasting the life God gave me. Afraid of falling apart when something really tough happens. Afriad that most of the time I'm fooling myself into believing I'm happy.
What the heck is wrong with me!
The contradiction to all of the above (except the family piece) is that I've got a great husband, a good job (extremely stressful, but still very good), and a nutty dog that I love. I live in a nice house. I can pay my bills. My financial situation allows me to help my family most of the time. I know I really am blessed.
So, I repeat what the heck is wrong with me? Where am I going, what do I want to be, how do I make "this" happen, and what the heck is "this"?

What a great name and focus for a team. I like it because I have worries about things which are, to some extent, beyond my control (will my landlord decide to evict us so he can move in himself? Will my son actually go to College tomorrow?) but there are those other ambitions I have which I can make happen. Exciting, fulfilling things which will take time, but are possible.
The three main goals I want to make happen are:
To take up photography again
To put together my own dark room and do black and white photography as well as digital
To buy myself a camcorder and make short films, to put forward to short film festivals, competitions etc.
I yearn to do these, but need to make myself well enough to earn a salary again, to buy the equipment. Then, there will be no stopping me! It will happen because I will make it happen through determination, hard work, optimism and using such aids as motivational pictures. Having made a short film for Uni on an issue that concerned me (adult bullying) I know how good it feels to inform people through media about issues, and I yearn to do more of this.

Thats a very neat idea, build your own kayak.
Right now with such limited resources and funds I dont even THINK like that. LOL not YET anyway...but I think that within only a couple years I very well may. I would love to travel, go white water rafting, bike across the USA, learn how to hang glide, scuba dive, go parasailing....sigh

When I am healthy and my weight is optimized, I will buy or build a kayak with a sliding seat and a storage compartment large enough for a folding bike and a small trailer for the kayak. To prepare for this adventure, I am now rowing indoors on a Concept2 rowing machine to become healthy and to increase my endurance for rowing.

It is amazing that antisemitism still exist in the world, but as long as people are filled with hatred and rotting from within, they can't help but broadcast ideas that stink. It will be good to be in a place where this vial stupidity is not tolerated. Go and dwell in love, perhaps with a lucky Frenchman.

Thank you very much Chan, you know me, you better believe I will, I'm way too determined a person not to
I was just talking to my cousin who mentioned that due to the recent antisemitism in countries like France and Venezuela there has been a large amount of people from there moving to Israel, so maybe I'm not moving to France but I might still wind up with a French

short term to long term...
Lose 2 pounds this week, 4 by the next, 6 by the week after that,...and in a month up to ten.
made it to the gym 5 days this week, next week goal of 6.
I want to decide where the heck I want to work and go get applications or supply them my resume...attend the job fair comming up and GET a job! A job I actually like.
From there I want to get current on my bills and get the rest of my car fixed.
Then I want to take a few classes, a creative writing class, a fitness instructor class...maybe something akin to physical therapist's assistant.
I want to try my hand at doing massage therapy again, being an instructor (yoga, aerobics, personal trainer...something like that Pilates...etc) maybe a nutritionist or dietitian...and a published sci fi writer for TV...like Star Trek or Dr Who or something along those lines.

For some it is wealth, health, weight loss, friends, love, fame, etc. What is your most important goal? What one thing, when you achieve it would make all other things possible?
Two years ago, i chose "health" as my most important goal. It is my understanding from my studies that if I become healthy, the many other things will fall into place: my weight will normalize, as it is a symptom, not a cause. Once I am fully healthy, my whole outlook on life will be more balanced and positive.
So far I have made many lifestyle changes, lost 40 pounds, healed torn ligaments, completely changed my eating habits, sleep habits, and what I allow into my life. If it causes me stress, I minimize it, eliminate it, or reframe it so it is no longer stressful.
What about you?
