Poetry is best when it is a metaphor for a personal truth; the more personal and true, the more universal the resonance. We are all tuning forks that resonate to the same truths.

I think on this more of purposely assigning value to each of my perceptions and investments, continually shaping my core beliefs, songs of the soul works too. :-) I guess its the same thing, but you put it so much more poetically I got to say WOW. lol
I agree that we always have so much stuff going on all the time, our minds automatically focus more on what we consider important, and less on what we take for granted, or are not concerned or worried with. When we stop actively "mixing our tapes", defining our preferences, the music then falls into the background, regardless of our changing tastes. Many of us get caught tunning out the inputs of the one person (goal, dream, directive) who matters most to us. Overlooking what our immediate wants or actions will actually do for us down the road and lose the connections (or importance of) to what we already have (or have done) now.

Failure- a stone on a path not the last one called success.
Planless gaol=a wish
Faithless dream=fleeting & amiss.
Progress-little to do with speed-much to do with direction.
Wiser to replace with better choices than to deny human nature-small smarter choice substitutions.
Purposely choose your thoughts-what you believe-you achieve-Be careful what you think

Remember when you heard your favorite song for the first time? You listened to it over an over again. As we mature, our tastes change, but some songs still conjure up beautiful memories and emotions.

Remember when you first met the person that you love today? This person is more than your favorite song, they are your life's song. Still, sometimes this beautiful music can become background music when we are surrounded by all of the distractions and noise of life: work, play, other friends and associates.

To reconnect to that special feeling and the growth in depth and relationship, we have to stop and listen carefully again. We need to rediscover those special qualities that we appreciated in the beginning and those deeper ohes that we came to appreciate over time.

This doesn't happen by itself. We have to remix our relationships to make it new. We take the original music and add the complexity of growing relationships and we have some very special indeed. It is our life music, our song, our enchanted melody.

Aim For A Life 'Remix'
by Gary Vurnum
==========================

Here you can learn a lesson from the music industry.

Have you noticed how practically every release these days has a remix?

When I was younger it was a big thing to have a remix of a record, but now even whole albums just of remixes climb up the charts.

There is a very good reason. Different versions of the same song appeal to different people - therefore more people are inclined to buy the record.

You hear the dance version in a club - you go buy the single, you hear the radio edit - you go buy the single.

The more you 'remix' your life, the more ways it's going to appeal to you.

Action Point:

In what ways could you 'remix' what you do every day?

Look for the upbeat 'dance' version of a task. See how fast you can finish it.

Go for the slow 'deep trance' mix - see how long you can focus on a single task without distractions.

You can apply this as effectively in your home life. You get bored of the same record after a while - so why not change it?

Just aim to do something completely differently…and you'll be surprised at how 'new' it can seem to you.

===================================

You cannot get what you’ve never had unless you’re willing to do what you’ve never done.

Don't be afraid that your life will end, be afraid that it will never begin.
