Hi Shannon426,
Mr Leo number eight. Well hear goes. This boy has a very powerful number to live up to if he doesn't already sound like the discription I am about to give you. Of course they are very groomed in appearance and particular about there hair I hope he has plenty if not there's a problem. Arn't all lions rrrrrr. He should be fairly good at manifesting things that he wants in his life. He has the ability to be wealthy and attain riches and aquire power and status. If he is in the position of being his own boss he will also be inclined to dictate to his staff and be very much incontrol. He must watch his ego though just a little incy wincy bit. He could have problems with his staff if he does not. The world in general is probably something he thinks of a lot and most likely is always thinking of how to make it a better place. In general he has an awful lot going for him. He will always make provisions for the people closest to him. This fellow is the real deal. He likes things real. When dealing with things in general it is done in a pragmatic way. If your man has not reached these high qualities rest assured he will. He also likes to do things in multiples. I guess that goes with the money making. Smile does Scrooge McDuck sound familiar. He most likely likes investing in things and making investments. If he puts his energy in the right places he should make quite a few good ones investments that is. Well I hope this has helped you understand your hubby a little bit. Numerology you can pick books up on it at book shops if you are meant to do it it will come your way. I was lucky to have had information come to me from a very generous master mathermatician. Blair Gorman. I use a little of my intuition to put some things together. Numerology makes sense as it is all about numbers. As soon as we are born we come into one our birth number then the year and so on and so on. The meanings of the numbers well. I guess a real genius worked that out. Smile. Don't worry if your relation ship is up and down you will find this sometimes it is more the astrological than the numero. Sometimes I guess you might find he gets his way alot. Well darl that is one of the things you will have to get used to around a Leo. They really like themselves a lot. Laugh. You can make a really good team though you like money he likes money and can make it. Your on a good thing there. You are a little more practical. He can be a little flamboyant. He might like to spend you will want to save. Investment girl. Thats where you both are headed if you aren't already. When you both are at each other just forget about it. As Leo and Taurus are a pretty steamy item. Chuckle. Stop worrying start living. Seeya. Stephanie.

Wow, that description totally hit the nail on the head. 426 is for my birthday on...aha...April 26. That was pretty amazing though! Is there a source where you can learn what the numbers mean? What do you know about the number 8 (my hubby's birthday is 8-18 = 8)?

To Shannon426.
Yep, I sure am a Taurean from the planet Venus. The planet of love. Don't ever forget it. Shannon426. Greetings fellow Taurean. I was born in the 60's also. So I guess I have the full love thing going on. Love Child. Now you know why you are so gorgeous. By the way the stubborn part its not true. Smile. It's great to have fun isn't it. I was looking at your 426 add them together and it adds to 12 and add the 1 and the 2 and you become 3. You probably are great at expressing yourself and are a social butterfly. You have passion in the things you enjoy doing. Art is most likely one of them as you like doing things in multiples. You can be spontaneous and you also like change. Have Faith and hope as when you put your mind to it you usually achieve your goal. In times of sorrow. You always pick yourself up as you have so many other great attributes to keep you down for long. Well that's what I got for you from the numbers you chose. Have a happy fun day. Stephanie.

Good read Shannon426. I relate to the food and the comfort thing. In fact I think I have always like food. Being Taurean doesn't help, smile. They are known for loving food. I like what you wrote about making choices for the future and what you would like to acheive. I agree with Chantec Great advice. Seeya.

after reading the first post, i so completely related that I had to respond, even if it's a few weeks late. I too had been on a weight loss roll and found that after my hubby and i moved i totally lost motivation. what i have found looking back is that each time i have hit a major plateau, it's because i have to deal with some issue i haven't worked through yet. (this hasn't been my first plateau in this journey.)

i would really look at why you are not choosing to make your health a priority anymore. for me, i found that i was was really into the immediate gratification part of eating more again. my renewed addiction wasn't fast food since my hubby is vegetarian, but i was definitely eating more than i should, and there was way too much snacking and desserts going on after work. not to mention social eating out and drinking! the truth was, i wanted that fun moment, that excitement from eating what i was craving and satisfying that urge. that was more rewarding than the benefits of losing weight. i had chosen my priority.

the turn around for me came when i saw an interview with a monk. he said that who we are today is based on what we did in the past. similarly who we are in the future is determined by what we do today. i realized that i have wanted to be thin for as long as i can remember, but i could never seem to reach that goal. if i really want that dream to happen, i have to make decisions today that help me get there. if i make other decisions today i may end up somewhere else completely. i chose what future i definitely wanted and have made choices in my best interest ever since. i am hardly perfect, but i am definitely going in the direction. let me tell you, it feels SO much better to be moving towards something you really really want than getting instant gratification that only lasts for fleeting moments.

my advice is to figure out what you truly want, believe you can achieve it and make decisions today that help you get there!

We are lucky in San Diego. We have the Souplantation restaurants which offer fresh salad ingredients, plus 2 or 3 salad specialities. They change their offering by the season and offer a variety of soups, breads, and desserts. There are other restaurants that also have salad bars, but these can vary in quality.

Have you heard of Angus Tours. It is run a young Canadian couple named Colin and Julie. They are currently on a boat and bike journey from Scotland to Syria, their two ancestral homes. It occurred to me that your portable water filter would be great for this type of use. They have sponsors for their trip and this is one of several human powered trip that they have made, including a round the world trip and a crossing of the Atlantic Ocean.

I don't often eat at restaurants, not that I don't want to. Its a matter of Artists are not always in the financial way. That is why we have extended the pottery with the extension of water purifier hoping to help keep the pottery going as that is our passion and love. I also like my cooking or my husbands. In this busy life though. You can get caught out and it is great to find that hidden gem out there that provides what we need that is healthy. In the eighty's in my home town there was a thing called a salad bar and you could get any salad you wanted the sauces were tahini and pine nuts and different seeds were sprinkled on top if you liked that. Oh it was pure heaven, I haven't seen one like it since. They offered a really great service and were always busy. In fact lunch time line was hectic. The salad were always fresh and their was the odd special every day like pumpkin pie or some other exotic thing that was very yummy and good for you, that you could have with your salad. They do have some around now but it all seams to be wraps and sandwiches. Salad don't look as fresh. I guess it is the fast way. Would be nice to slow down again. Smile.

I'm reminded of the American Country Song, "Looking for love (food) in all the wrong places..." I've found several restaurants that serve items that I love to eat and that are good for me. Sometimes it is just a matter of the sauce or the salad dressing or the way it is cooked, i.e. broiled not fried. We have to be ever vigilant. Once I find these restaurants, I tend to go back to them and order what I know is safe or at least safer.

I forgot to mention to you the book "Eat this Not that" it is put out by the editors of MensHealth magazine and critiques lots of main stream restaurants and not only the fast food ones but also sit down ones too. It has really helped me a lot. give you the best meals to eat calorie, sodium and cholesterol wise. also healthy alternatives for some of your favorite meals. you can also get some of the content by going to www.menshealth.com/eatthis/index.php
Anyway it has helped me a lot. As I seem to eat out a lot.

I hope that you like the protein smoothie. There are probably some good recipes for this on the SP site too. I've taken calorie safe salad dressings to restaurants. Most have low calorie choices, even if they don't advertise them on the menu. I've also mixed my own salad dressings with olive oil, vinegar, black pepper, salt, and lemon juice. DrMirkin.com has lots of recipes on his site and his wife Diana has an online cookbook that you can even print, if you want to. I would suggest that you make eating out an adventure and challenge and see how successful you can be navigating the perils. You will join me as one of the new hunter gatherers.

Thanks for all the great suggestions! I like the protein shake idea to help kick the blizzard habit. I'll have to ease into the lemon and pepper idea. I've already started ordering chicken instead of beef. It's a matter of taking small steps to fully integrate the new lifestyle. Thanks again to everyone for helping me out!

Great suggestion for a salad dressing with lemon and black paper!

I was thinking more on the Blizzard problem and you might try a protein "blizzard". I buy vanilla protein powder from Wal-Mart (their chocolate taste funny and doesn't mix well) and mix it with fresh or frozen fruits. You can mix it with water, but I prefer non-fat milk or almond milk for a richer taste. If you have a really good blender you can add ice cubes and make it into a protein rich treat which is perfect after a work out at the gym. My wife makes these all of the time and they are delicious. Frozen cherries are her favorite addition. Good luck! emoticon emoticon

another suggestion for a salad dressing if eating out is most restaurants keep fresh lemons for tea and water drinkers also for fish dishes. ask for a couple of them and squeeze them over your salad add a little ground black pepper and you have a wonderful salad dressing without a whole lot of calories.
Try to stay positive, and hey I know this helped me when I realized I was eating out to much, I started planning menu's each week. That way it got me into cooking more often and not being in the situation of getting home from work and not knowing what to cook and then going out instead.

It is hard eating out, but it is possible. Most restaurants have salads these days, so these are your best bets. The salad dressings are usually the killer calories here. Oil and vinegar or Italians is usually the safest. Skip bread, all potatoes, and all refined foods. Order vegetable as sides instead. Order fish, chick, turkey, pork or beef, preferably fish, but never fried. Salmon is one of the best because it is high in Omega 3 oils. Blizzard are just bad--they can't be redeemed. If you wish to change, you can't keep doing the same things and expect different results. Diets are stupid and don't work because they are always temporary. It is better to take longer, but make permanent lifestyle changes than quick fix diets that never last. Be patient with yourself, but make incremental changes in your lifestyle. The 5 days at the gym are a good start, but it is your whole life that has to change in order to attain and maintain your goals.

Forgive yourself and move on! Add some streaks to your sparkpage. I made some challenges for the month against another sparker, added them as streaks on my page and its keeping me accountable.

Now that the move is done, stop eating out so much. Are you tracking your calories? I have been eating more than I should as well but I am tracking it, honesty eventually prevails. Try to cut the Blizzards down to twice a month and always go for the small. Or try to substitute it with another sweet treat that isn't so full of calories. Get back on track!!!!

The only thing you can change is yourself, but sometimes that changes everything.

I'm in a similar (although longer-lasting) slump. I did great for my first 5 months and haven't ever quite been able to get back to my healthier eating habits again. What has been suggested to me recently - and I am suggesting to you - is to pick three fast break items and commit to doing them for 10 days. Don't pick things that will be too hard, but DO pick small steps toward eating healthier again. Are you getting enough water? If not, make that a goal. Make a fast break goal to make one healthier choice each time you go out to eat, however small -- get the light salad dressing. Pass up the croutons. Order the steamed veggies for a side instead of fries. Pick three things like that to commit to for the next ten days, then once you've made it through those, you can add a couple of others. I know you can do it! (And so can I, if someone will just duct-tape my mouth shut at 6 pm each night. LOL)

Before June, I was doing well -- I lost 15 lbs. and was well on my way to losing more. Then came June and my husband and I moved to another city. The move killed me -- while our kitchen was packed up, we ate out every day. Fast food and non-fast food. I gained everything back and now I can't get back into my good eating habits. I exercise about 5 days a week, so that's not a problem. We eat well when I cook. But we still go out to eat and we get DQ Blizzards at least once a week. Does anyone have any suggestions for getting me back on the wagon? I appreciate any words of advice, motivation, etc., anyone has!
