Way to go. I sometimes have probs with hubby when he does the shopping he has different metabolism to me and he can eat lots of carbs and never put on an incy bit of weight. If he does the shopping the kids and I are in trouble. We really have to be strong. Sometimes I love him for that, as temptation can make you stronger. I wonder if he does it on purpose. mmmm.

Same here-I don't buy junk food anymore, my kids have to go outside of the house to get it if they want it. I know me and if it is there, it is just too much temptation. If I want a treat, its in a single serving so it never stays for long. I buy things like granola bars and such and the fridge stays full of fruits and veggies that I know they like and they graze in front of the fridge saying "there's nothing to eat"-yeah right. At first I thought I would feel bad about not having any snack food in the house, but I don't!

Excuses are reasons to keep doing the same things-let them go!!

Think people, it ain't illegal yet!

I put this into practice. I only buy what the family needs to eat for the day. At first you should have seen the stink it made for the kids. We must be the only family with no food in our fridge or pantry. When they bring there friends over they can only have a small treat or healthy stuff. Not just pig out as I call it. Boy it saves you the little extra money you need as well. I am fortunate though I have a little market down the road not to far away. I know this is difficult if you are a family that has to travel for food as petrol is a concern these days. I just feel personally the more you store the more you eat and the rest as well. I do realize it is great to have self control when the pantry is full. It sure takes away telling the kids to stay out of the cupboard when it is full though. They look so much slimmer now and a lot more healthier and it has made them aware of there health as well. Me too of coarse. I am still working on better eating habits though. I do like my treats. You still gotta have those just not so often. emoticon

LOL but seriously, think of seeing that taped to the bottom of your plate when you get up for a plate of seconds knowing that you barely made it thru the first plate! I have a mental picture of that right now.

#5 response card from "the BECK DIET solution"
"SAY NO TO EXTRA FOOD"

GET RID OF EXTRA FOOD. IT'LL BE WASTED IN THE TRASH CAN OR IN MY BODY. EITHER WAY, IT'S WASTED.

I really get a lot out of this statement, something said so simply but so profound! It opened a new experience for me with food.
